Information to date?
• With the increase in computer involvement in the combustion process more and more engines have computers as an integral part of their design. Car manufacturers can be seen to be in the lead with standard computers for everything.
• Off road engines are generally less sophisticated and need to run on a lower and wider range of fuels.
• However with emissions becoming a greater and greater issue, computers are now standard in just about all construction and forestry machinery.

The machines are equipped witha computer with integrated GPS-
receiver, modem and antenna
GPS is used to establish the
exact location of the machines
The informationis processed in a database
Users log in on their web pageand can effectively monitor themachines remotely and make
correct decisions

Summary
• Now have the ability to look far more closely at what we are doing.
• Now have the opportunity to improve what we are doing.
• Must make the commitment to look at, explore and develop this knowledge level to our best advantage.
• It is in the manufacturers’ interest to provide us with this information or provide a service.
• I believe in depth analyses will be common place in years to come.
