Keynote Speeches
Prof. Thomas G. Endres
Storytelling is an important part of the human experience. Dr. Endres
shares with us stories of his growth as a person, as an educator, and as a
media and communication scholar. In particular, he will share interviews
and photographs of his photo-ethnographic book “Sturgis Stories:
Celebrating the People of the World’s Largest Motorcycle Rally.” In
sharing these stories, Endres will encourage the audience – journalists
and educators alike – to collect and listen to the stories of those around
them, and to value and share those images and narratives in our personal
and professional endeavors.
Assoc. Prof. Dale Edwards
The keynote address will examine how technological advances have
both enhanced the ability to communicate internationally and altered
the politics of international communication as governments wrangle
with that enhanced capability. The address will briefly discuss the
history of technological development and how it affected political
reality and examine some current trends and how they do and yet will
affect attempts to govern effectively.
