Is there a relationship between lyrics and visuals?
• This song is about living life with all its problems, and the problems are overwhelming, but in the end you know there's that special someone who somehow makes everything okay just by being there.
• The video amplifies these lyrics, it shows every day life and how feeling lonely can become powerful, but he over comes this by singing.
Is it performance based, narrative or concept?
In this music video it has some performance based
However there is also some concept based, where there is this feeling and idea of loneliness.
• The concept of the music video can be based around an idea. The idea of loneliness and feeling miserable and wanting love.
This is also represented by at the end of the music video, he goes for both a meal and gets in bed on his own.Also as the video is filmed from the beginning of the day to the end, it shows his journey on his own.
Is there any genre characteristics?
• As it is a love song, this music video shows him playing a guitar a lot, the guitar is the main prop throughout this music video.
• The acoustic guitar is a traditional icon of love, and this is aimed towards someone
• “You are the only one who save me, that’s why I've been missing you lately.”
How is Cinematography used?
• This shot is an establishing shot, it pans the surrounding areas and set a misty and dull environment. This is filmed travelling in a car and features a guitar solo, which amplifies the lonely feel to it.
...Close UpsThis is a long close up as it last for 5 seconds. The extended time allows for the viewer to see the emotion.
All the close ups seen is where James Morrison has his eyes closed representing how he is putting expression into the song and blocking out any problems.

How is Editing used?
• The use of editing within this movie clip varies. • During a part of the music video where he is
performing on his own, the tempo of the song quickly speeds up. This shows he is overcoming the problems with everyday life with the use expressing emotions. This is shown by the cutting of the video, it speeds up when he sings on his own.

How is Mise en scene used ?
Low key lighting is used regular during this music video, low key lighting represents that something is missing. This is different to the usual pop and dance genre where it is all about image and glamour, where as this love song is dark and gloomy.

• The clothes used in this music video are very casual, however they change when he is performing on his own
