How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My magazine represents my target audience of 16-25 year olds who are interested in rock music, more orientated towards males. I think it represents this audience as rebellious, festival goers who have a genuine interest in music and I have portrayed their style

through the clothing of my models which I identified by my research into audience profiles of magazines such as NME and

Kerrang! They wore dark colours, with jeans, polo shirts, Harrington jackets, military boots and aviator sunglasses. I also identified that this audience quite often played instruments themselves, mainly

guitars and drums so I included images of the artists playing electric guitars and performing live.

My cover artist also portrays the

kinds of artists that would be used on the front cover of

magazines as he has quite a rebellious style which is common on front covers

Many of my other artists in my magazine are seen

playing instruments, such as guitar which represents

the kind of social group they are targeted at, as it creates a rock, unkempt

look for the artists which is conventional for rock

artists.
