Final Cut Express HD was a program that we had never used before and so we taught ourselves how to use the basic controls.

Converting the song that we used (Holding Us Back by Katie Herzig) from an iTunes file to an MP3 and subsequently saving the file to a memory stick so it could then be imported into Final Cut Express.

Final Cut was notorious for playing up on multiple occasions but, after clicking around for a considerable amount of time, we were able to access the right windows and progress with the editing process.

As a huge fan of the TV show Grey’s Anatomy and the post production work that goes into the show, I took to the task of editing with enthusiasm.

I edited the film and was pleased with the way the two conversations looked by the end as well as the EXT scenes where James walks alone.

The best shot of the film was composed By Conor whereby he climbed a tree to created a high-angle shot to suggest James’ low power and the possibility of him being watched.

One of my critiques towards the film would be the lack of Close Ups and Extreme Close Ups which convey emotion and familiarise the audience with the protagonist.

Also, we tended to be satisfied with just one take rather filming the same scene multiple times which would have allowed more choice as to what clips should have been incorporated.
