2. What production companies do: Production companies organize
staff, actors, singer and dancers whoever is involved in producing
the film itself. They do the overall budgeting of the film,
marketing of the film and scripting. They also provide the finance
for the creation of the film . There are many people involved in
the productionWardrobe Make up artists Camera crew Directors Actors
The producers themselves
3. Some different production company logos:
4. Why these logos? We chose these logos as we felt that they
fit well with our film which represents the teen drama genre. Each
of the logos we chose are not large production companies and do not
produce films of a large profile and high costs. We chose these
companies as our film would only have been produced on a small
scale with minimal costs much like the films produced by these
companies. We created our own production company logo to fit in
amongst the other production companies we targeted when considering
producing our film. We noticed that many of the logos had a calm;
naturalistic look and was easy on the eye- this is why we chose to
use bubbles in the background. We named our production company HMKB
because it includes each member of our groups initials so it is
relevant to us and original.
5. Distributors: Film distributors send out the film which
allows the audience to view the film. The distributors decide when
and where the film will be played and they promote the film through
advertising (TV, Magazines etc.) When the film has been seen in the
cinema, they decide on how much payment the company will receive
then they send the movie back to the distributors. The distributors
also decide how many copies of the film are made and what companies
and cinemas can display it.
6. Why we chose Focus Features We chose to distribute our film
using focus features because we knew our film would be a low budget
production and we thought about how we would finance our film and
afford everything we needed. Focus features have distributed many
films such as the film One Day which was released in 2011 and was
very successful and the audience rated this movie well. We knew
that advertising and promoting our film would be likely to cost a
lot, however we thought that choosing the right production company
would enable the film to be seen by a large audience which is well
suited to our film.
7. How would we fund our film? Our film wouldve been funded
through different fundraising and sponsorships. We would attempt to
gain support from other production companies and the public through
advertising and releasing our trailer. In order to generate a
higher number of viewers, we couldve created a website and phone
apps so that the public are well aware of the status of the film
and when and where it would be released in order to get a large
audience and maximum views.
