How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? Construction + research: Prior to the construction of our products, we researched into similar products that we would like to create this included the music video, website and digipack. Music Video In order to understand/learn the characteristics we need to make our music appear of the RnB genre and professional at the same time. To do this we used google videos and youtube to search for these videos. Once each member of our group had done their own individual research we then came together as a group to discuss our ideas and came up with the image we wanted to create, which was a classy and sexy woman using RnB style costume but a bit more sophisticated. We decided that to make it look more professional we had to use clear white and black backgrounds with bright lights. To put our planning on the blog we used a range of websites such as glogster.com & prezi.com When planning our construction of the video we used online timetables to schedule when and where we were going to film. But for our planning it was mainly hand written as it was easier for us to take with us during filming. During the construction of our music video we used a Sony HVR-HD 1000E camera. This camera was quite good, filming in HD so the picture was much clearer and using a steady camera with a tripod made it look much more professional. We filmed it on a HDV tape so it was easier to transfer the product. Once we were done filming we transferred it onto a Mac computer and used the programme – Final Cut Pro to edit the shots. From using this same programme last year it was much easier to get the hang of the programme again, however, we did learn a few new things such as altering the picture colour and zooming into a shot also how make a shot go in slow motion or rewind, this helped to add definition to our music video. Music VideoIn order to understand/learn the characteristics we need to make our music appear of the RnB genre and professional at the same time. To do this we used google videos and youtube to search for these videos. Once each member of our group had done their own individual research we then came together as a group to discuss our ideas and came up with the image we wanted to create, which was a classy and sexy woman using RnB style costume but a bit more sophisticated.

WebsiteBefore constructing our website we analysed Tinie Tempah’s website, from this we were able to see what type of text and colours draw the audience in, but we realised that it varies across type of music, gender and the star image trying to be presented. We then used google as a search engine to find similar artists to ours, such as Beyonce and Rita Ora. From looking into these websites we found that the general colour scheme used by these RnB female artists of late, is greys, whites and reds. We were advised to use wix.com in order to create our website, this provided us with a range of tools and templates for our website however whilst working on it we began to think the colour schemes and fonts were a bit too limited for the black and gold look we wanted to go for. Instead we used a programme on the Mac called iweb this allowed us to use many colours and fonts however, this programme was extremely difficult to use and as there were no templates it took us a while to figure out the style, once we had got the hang of iweb we then went back to using wix because we decided we did infact want to conform to the grey and red colour scheme which was possible on wix which was also simpler to use. For the pictures of our artist, some of the members of my group used adobe photoshop to edit them making them look more professional/superstar like, using this programme gave us a platform to play about with the images, changing or adding colour, altering

facial features etc. We also used youtube to upload videos onto the website to make it more interactive for our target audience.

Digipack Google was the main search engine we used to research previously made digipack’s, using this we were able to see the range of different cd packs we decided we wanted something simple to help us portray the classy theme that we were going for.For the digipack the programme used was adobe photoshop. We were able to change the brightness and saturation and contrast of images and also soften images, change the colour of the background and add text and also a barcode making it look more professional. This programme was extremely helpful in the making of our digipack.

For my evaluation as you can see I am I using many presentation materials such as youtube videos, interactive presentations and posters. This will mean my evaluation will look a lot more interesting and unique.
