All PG Medical/Dental seats are classified into four types as given belowo Government seats in Government colleges as well as private colleges – Govt (G)o Private quota Seats in Private colleges - Private(P),o Non Resident Indian seats - NRI -(N)o Others seats - Other(Q)

All the seats are notified with six characters as given below

M 1 7 G C 1

From Left to rightM – Medical17 – College CodeG – Government seatC1 – Subject Code

M 1 7 P C 1

From Left to rightM – Medical17 – College CodeP – Private seatC1 – Subject Code

Page 36

From Left to rightM – Medical17 – College CodeQ – Other seatC1 – Subject Code

M 1 7 G C 2

From Left to rightM – Medical17 – College CodeG – Government seatC2 – Subject Code

The above mentioned seat notification code would be displayed with fees details during theOption entry after login to system based on the eligibility of the each candidate

The Seat allotment logic/module/system follows the Category, NEET Rank of the candidatealong with the entered options and priorities given by the candidate during options entry

Assume that a candidate is eligible under for G & GMP seats, then, he/she would be eligible toenter options related to G-Seats, P-Seats and Q-Seats of all colleges

If he/she entered Options with the priorities as given below, then the system would check theseat availability as per the options & priorities and allot the seat if it is available at that point intime [as explained below]

Options Priority No.M17PC1 - 01M17QC1 - 02M17GC1 - 03M17GC2 - 04

In the above scenario, the system would check the seat availability for the above four optionsone by one starting from the priority No. 1 to 4 in order and would allot seat based on theavailability. Assume that the candidate is having required merit/rank to avail any seat of theabove four options including the G-Seats of option/priority no. 3 or 4, where the fees is lower ascompare to the P-Seat/Q-Seat. The system would allot seat only against option/priority No. 01 asseat is available as per his/her merit/rank and he/she has not given G-Seats in the top. Therefore, all the candidates are informed to be very cautious while filling option entries &priority as there is no provision to change the seat in the later stage once seat is allotted.

12.2 Procedure for allotment of seats in Medical / Dental Discipline:The computer starts with allotment of seats to rank number 1 in Medical discipline. Thecomputer first checks the availability of seats for the First option entered by thecandidate with Rank no 1. Obviously the candidate will get the seat as per his options.Whereas for the next rank holders the computer check the availability of seats for thefirst option, if seat is available it will allot or if the seat is not available then thecomputer will search for the next option. Like that the computer will search for theavailability of seats for all the options entered by the candidates. The computer will stopsearching for allotment of seats once the seat is allotted then the computer will move onto next eligible candidates. Similarly the computer will search for all the candidatesbased on the merit and options. Like this the computer will reach the last rank till seatsare exhausted or till last rank candidate is reached. This entire process is called iteration.

Page 40

12.3 Seat Allotment Logic:

Based on the seat matrix issued by the Government, action will be taken to allot the seats tothe candidates based on their eligibility and reservation criteria. The options entered by thecandidate will be considered for allotment based on the merit. While allotting the seats tothe candidates, the computer will check the availability of seats for each option based on thepriority of options. The order of allotment / reservation for each of the category is detailedbelow for the information of the candidates.

The allotment of seat for a particular candidate is based on his/her rank and priorityoption entered. In any category, the candidate option is searched in general category (GM)and allotted, if no seat is available in GM category the computer searches in HyderabadKarnataka GM quota (GMH) and allots the seat. If seat is not available either in GM or GMHthen it follows the priority order as shown above. This improves the category of seat allottedto roster. In the same manner all the categories improved as per roster for candidatesclaiming reservation.
