Dear Staff, Volunteers and Physicians, The Pride & Communication Council is proud to announce this month’s Reason Is You award recipient as ALL OF YOU! During this pandemic everyone has gathered in a strong, united front, and ALL, rather than just one person, are worthy of recognition. Everyone has worked hard communicating, planning and executing the safest care possible – not only for patients and their families, but for the medical center staff, physicians and volunteers. Every department, employee, volunteer and medical staff member has played a crucial role meeting the required regulations and guidelines and making adjustments quickly. This could only be accomplished by working together as one big team! We must acknowledge Dr. Eric Milefchik and Dr. David Rand for their leadership during this pandemic. Because of their leadership, and that of our Infection Prevention Department, the medical center quickly became well prepared to care for our community and COVID-19 patients, keeping both populations safe. They also worked closely with 3 units caring for the COVID -19 patients to educate, train and support staff and physicians. They have worked tirelessly for many weeks and we are grateful. From all of us on the Pride & Communication Council, THANK YOU for everything everyone has done – and continues to do – provide the best healthcare to our community while taking extraordinary safety measures to do so. Together we are Torrance Memorial Strong.
