Cover Page: Should include the following:
Your Name
Title of the Portfolio
Course Name

Image Relating to Topic
Title Page: Should include the Title of the Portfolio, Your Name, and the Date.
Table of Contents: Use examples from books to create your own table of contents with each section and
the page it may be found on listed.
Dedication: “This Medical Shadowing Portfolio is dedicated to…” friends, family, future students,
medical professionals who allowed you to their workplace, awesome teachers ;-) BE SERIOUS!
Medical Program Overview: A Summary of the Full Medical Program may be found on pages 3-7 of the
Medical Program Handbook. These pages have been attached for you, but you MAY NOT copy directly
from them (this is called plagiarizing, and will result in an “F” for the project).
Introduction: Should include an introduction of the career(s) you focused on in your internship. Topics
to discuss include:
Career choice basic information (salary, education required, local schools offering required
degrees, etc.) Several internet sites may be used- www.flahec.org/hlthcareers/ offers
information on many fields.
Body system(s) associated with profession.
Diseases/Disorders associated with systems, professions and hopefully with experiences you
had while at the job site.
Treatment/Prevention of associated disorders (based on research and experiences on site).

Shadowing Analysis: This is where you tell us about your experience. What activities did you see while
you were there? What did you learn? What did you like/not like? What skills did you see being
performed? Were there any skills/activities you were able to do?
Resume: Include a Copy of your Completed Resume (we will work on shrinking it down to a size to fit in
the portfolio).
References: Include any resources used in your Portfolio (including Primary resources like the people at
the site you completed your internship at).
