q4h: every four hours

q6h: every 6 hours

q8h: every 8 hours

q12: every 12 hours

So what is the difference between:

bid & q12 tid & q8h qid & q6h qh & q1h qd & q24h

Figure out when to schedule the following meds, treatments and procedures

Pt wakes up at 8:00am and goes to bed at 22:00

Heart meds tid * make sure it is pc

TPR& BP q6h

Antibiotics q8h * make sure they are ac

ROM bid

Pain med TID and PRN

Solution

Heart Meds tid 10:00 and 18:00 and 0200 (after meals)

Temp, Pulse, BP and Resp: q6h 8:00 14:00 20:00 02:00

Antibiotics q8h 08:00 and 16:00 and 24:00 (before meals)

ROM bid 10:00 and 18:00 Pain meds TID 0900 and 1600 and 22:00 and

more if needed
