    Meditation is the science of knowing oneself.

    It is the process to control the mental variations.

    THE PURPOSE OF MEDITATION

    1.To help the individual come out of conflicts and

    problems.

    2.To check aimless wanderings of mind.

    3.To promote concentration and focus which improves the

    capacity of single pointedness.

    4.To make the best use of available energy.

    TECHNIQUE OF MEDITATION

    1.Sit in comfortable meditativeposture with hands resting on

    knees either in chin or jnana

    mudra.

    2.Close your eyes and relax.

    3.Bring your attention towardsyour surrounding sound.

    4. Now slowly bring your attention towards body.

    5.Then Bring complete attention on your incoming and

    outgoing Breath and watch it.

    6.With each breath you will feel that your body is becoming

    relaxed, calm and quiet.

    7.Do it for a comfortable period of time;Staring from 5

    minutes to going up to 20 minutes. However, time is not ofmuch importance ,your Ease and comfortlevel are.

    8.feel the silence generated within you.

    9.Then after 5 minutes rub your both hands and do

    palming on your eyes and then open your eyes slowly.

    PRECAUTIONS

    1.Place of practice should be calm , quiet and

    pollution free.

    2.It should be practiced in open area where there is

    proper ventilation.

    3.Posture of meditation should be comfortable.

    4.Do not practice meditation immediately after

    meals.

    5.Clothes should be loose.

    6.Mind should be peaceful.

    7.Technique of meditation should be followed.

    8.Should be started under the guidance of Guru.
