3D CAD Master Model Creation Steps

    1. Start with a mental

    image of your 3D part.

    2. Break it down into

    major cross-sections

    3. Capture the basic shape of

    the first cross-section

    4. Apply geometric

constraints to the sketch tofreeze the shape

    5. Add Smart Dimensions to every

characteristic needing a dimensionuntil the sketch is Fully Contstrained.

    Note:

    At this point, dont

    worry about the EXACT

    dimension. The

    relationship between

    the features is more

    important.

3D CAD Master Model Creation Steps

    Note:

    When you consistently

    build your Master

    Models with this

    process, subsequent

    changes will be much

easier to accomplish.10. Your first iteration Master

    Model is complete!

    6. Now add specific

    dimensions if known

    7. Complete sketch and

    extrude to thickness

    8. Repeat the process for the

    other main cross-section

    9. Now add or subtract

material as needed usingfillets, chamfers, holes, etc.
