KCI: 1989 - 1995
• While in high school, I was in a lot of clubs, and a member of the student council for 2 years as Head of Special Events (dances, etc) and Head of Awards & Clubs.
University of Waterloo: 1995 - 2000
• After switching majors several times, I ended up getting a Bachelor of Math (B.Math) in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Physics (and a fair number of chemistry courses).
• I'm actually only 6 courses (1 semester) away from getting a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Physics, but I got accepted into Western to do my Bachelor of Education and chose that instead.
University of Western Ontario (London): 2000 - 2001
• Here's where I got my B.Ed to become a teacher, with teachables in math and physics.
University of Toronto (OISE): Summer 2003
• Here I completed my Honours Specialist in mathematics teaching... just in time to move to a new school and teach all science. :P
University of Waterloo (again!): Fall 2007 - 2008
• I decided that I wanted to take some more science courses in the areas that I'd skipped over as a student the first time around, so I've gone back to do some work in Earth Sciences and Biology.
• I'd like to continue taking more courses, but it's hard to find classes that fit into my schedule as a full time teacher.
MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses)
• I've started taking a number of online course, including... – Volcanic Eruptions - A Material Science (LMU Munich)
– Astronomy - State of the Art (University of Arizona)
– Classical Mythology (Missouri State University)
– From the Big Bang to Dark Energy (University of Tokyo)
– Dino 101: Dinosaur Paleobiology (University of Alberta)
• Cool stuff!
Action Figures
• Transformers, Superheroes, G.I. Joe, Star Wars
• Whatever else looks cool to me at the moment.
Music
• I like a LOT of stuff, but some of my favourites...
– Alkaline Trio, Avenged Sevenfold, Blink 182, Breaking Benjamin, Bowling For Soup, Eve 6, Great Big Sea, Jimmy Eat World, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Pink, The Refreshments, Weezer

• Anything with a vampire, werewolf, zombie, ghost, wizard, dwarf, superhero, spy, bank robber, Spartan, alien, college student on spring break, killer robots or Ryan Reynolds. Preferably with several of the former fighting each other (such as Blade Trinity).
