Take a step back in time and join us in celebrating May Day with the Tudors. Visit the encampment on the North Lawn to browse through our Tudor market stalls, see the Great Hall beautifully dressed for the occasion and watch our Tudor gentlemen and ladies glide through Elizabeth I's favourite dances. Meet the Court Jester: FREE Join Jeffrey in his family friendly performance and help him along as he practices his latest comedy routine for the Tudor nobles. Sat, Sun & Mon: the North Lawn: 12, 1.30 & 3pm Tudor Dancing: FREE Dressed in their finery, our Tudor gentlemen and ladies will demonstrate some of Elizabeth I’s favourite dances. Why not join them? Sat, Sun & Mon: the North Lawn: 11.30 & 2pm Please note: in wet weather some of these performances may be moved into the Education Room (limited to 20 people max on a first come first serve basis). We reserve the right to cancel an event at short notice. Morris Dancing: FREE Join the Mersey Morris Men on Saturday and Mucky Mountains Morris club on Monday as they perform a lively set of traditional Morris dancing. Sat & Mon only: the North Lawn: 1 & 2.30pm Sun only: Home Farm: 1 & 2pm Tudor Madrigals: FREE Enjoy the beautiful traditional sounds of Mostly Madrigals as they transport us back to a musical Tudor world. We hope you had a great time with us today! As a charity, every time you visit us, become a member, treat yourself to something from the shop and restaurant, volunteer, donate or leave a legacy, you are helping to protect our special places for ever, for everyone.
