1 COLGATE MEN’S LACROSSE o PARTIOT LEAGUE LACROSSE MEMBER www.GoColgateRaiders.com meet the raiders Colgate Alumni Spotlight Andrew Jarolimek ’06 Andrew Jarolimek was a four-year letterwinner for the Raiders. He was named Patriot League Co-Rookie of the Year and earned all-Patriot league second- team honors as a goalkeeper his freshman season. He broke the career record for minutes played with 3470:12 as a senior. Jarolimek is currently serving as an officer in the US Coast Guard. He attended the USCG Officer Candidate School from August 2008 to December 2008 and was commissioned as an Ensign in the USCG at the beginning of December 2008, stationed at Group/Air Station Humboldt Bay in McKinleyville, Calf. What made you pursue a career with the U.S. Coast Guard? I pursued a career in the USCG to experience new and exciting challenges and to have a career that I enjoyed waking up to everyday. I am thoroughly enjoying my job and look forward to what each day will bring to me. Currently I am working with surface operations (boats and cutters); however, my aspirations are to go to flight school and become an aviator in the USCG. What are some of your best memories of playing Colgate lacrosse? My best memories of playing Colgate lacrosse are many but some of the highlights include: Defeating No. 4 Navy and later capturing the Patriot League regular season title as a senior In 2006 defeating Lehigh in OT; a downright great game Although we lost; playing Cornell in Schoellkopf Field in 2003 (my freshman year) All of the friends that I made and the great times we shared over the course of my college career How did playing collegiate and Colgate lacrosse prepare you for your current profession? It taught me how to manage my time; my senior year I was taking a full load of classes with an additional independent study, obviously playing lacrosse, and finally enjoying what was left of my life as a college student. As a Coast Guard officer you have your main job, but are assigned other collateral duties which can sometimes take up more time than your actual job. You’re expected to be proficient at your job while also completing your collateral duties. To be successful you have to manage your time. What would you say has been the most interesting/challenging part of your job? The most interesting part of my job thus far has been learning the many missions the Coast Guard performs. The Coast Guard is a dynamic organization that plays a vital role in commerce, homeland security, environmental stewardship, and maritime safety and mobility. Being from Colorado, I wasn’t thoroughly exposed to the Coast Guard however I am learning quickly how important this organization is and I am very proud to be a part of it. As my career progresses I will experience many things that I never dreamed of happening in my life. I am excited and look forward to the future. university quick facts Location ........................................Hamilton, N.Y. The Colgate University Department of Athletics, in order to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all of its fans, has instituted the following guidelines for tailgating at Andy Kerr Stadium.

The Maroon Council Lot is opened two hours before each game. The remaining parking lots are opened two hours prior to each game.

Your parking pass entitles you to ONE parking space. Please do not set tables, chairs, or coolers up on adjacent parking spaces. We ask for your cooperation since space is at a premium.

Vehicles and/or fans carrying beer kegs and/or excessive quantities of alcohol (wine, spirits and/or beer) will NOT be allowed into the parking lot areas. Vehicles and fans will be subject to search.

Tailgating is only allowed until five minutes into the first half, during half-time until five minutes into the second half and for one hour after the completion of any game.

All parking lot areas are walked by Colgate Police & Security and Colgate Athletic Department Event Staff to ensure fans are finished tailgating at the scheduled times.

Colgate Police & Security along with Colgate Athletic Event Staff have the right to refuse any patron admission if he/she is

The Colgate University men’s lacrosse team has played numerous home games on Tyler’s Field. Colgate officially dedicated Tyler’s Field in the fall of 1997. The state-of-the art AstroTurf Stadium was constructed in the memory of Tyler Whaling ‘93. The stadium is the home of the field hockey and men and women’s lacrosse teams. In 2006, the Raiders hosted the Patriot League Tournament on the field. It also was the site of Colgate’s memorable 6-3 victory over Navy in 2006.

The stadium seats 1,000 fans with extra standing room on the far side of the field. Restrooms are located directly behind the grandstand.
