EALD supportCampsie Public School has a dedicated team committed to helping
students learn English as a new and additional language or dialect
We work to:
# offer intensive lessons for students who have little or no English – to help them to begin to communicate in English
# deliver ongoing English lessons to build skills in everyday speaking, listening, reading and writing
#provide in-class support to help the EALD students understand and complete the lesson tasks as set by the classroom teacher
Mathematics# New topics every fortnight:
- Weeks 1-2 - Whole number- Weeks 3-4 - Addition & Subtraction, Length- Weeks 5-6 - Multiplication & Division, 2D space- Weeks 7-8 - Fractions & Decimals, Time- Weeks 9-10 - Patterns & Algebra, Data- Week 11 - Revision
# Fortnightly assessment
# Homework set in relation to topics on mathletics.
SCIENCE (STEM)# A different knowledge outcome each term, as well as
students developing their understanding of scientific skills.

NAPLAN & OC❖ NAPLAN for Year 3❖ 2019 will be digital.❖ May 15 Tuesday (Language Conventions 40 mins + Writing 40 mins)❖ May 16 Wednesday (Reading 50 mins)❖ May 17 Thursday (Numeracy 45 mins)❖ OC for year 4❖ Some students benefit from OC however others may not.❖ Students are tested in mathematics, English and general ability.❖ School provides own marks based on assessment and school data.❖ Applications open 1 May 2018 and close on 18 May 2018.❖ Parents apply online and school will set aside a couple of mornings to help parents apply.❖ OC test is on 1 August 2018. ❖ Further questions can be asked to High Performing Students Unit.
