Banquet Information

GuaranteeThe Umstead Hotel and Spa requires a guaranteenumber of persons attending your function(s) bynoon, three working days prior to the functionday. If a guarantee is not provided, the agreedupon contracted guest count will be used or thenumber of guests attending, whichever is greater.The hotel will prepare food for up to 5% over theguaranteed guest count. If the number of guestsexceeds 5% of the guarantee, the hotel cannotguarantee to provide identical services for theadditional guests but will accommodate with analternative meal. Any meal provided for theadditional guests will be subject to a $20.00 perperson surcharge on the menu price.

Service Charge/TaxA 22% taxable service charge and 8.25% state sales tax will be charged on food and beverage items. State sales tax will be applied to room rental and audio visual fees at 7.25%.

Valet parking charges will be posted to the client’smaster account.

Floral Design, Decorations, Entertainment & PhotographyYour catering representative can provide a list of preferredvendor partners to assist with the planning of your eventrequirements. You are not required to use the vendors,however, we do request notice of your selected vendorsso they may be advised on the Hotel’s outside vendorpolicies. Charges will be applied to the group’s masteraccount should any excessive cleanup be required after anevent.

Displays & ExhibitsAll exhibits and displays must conform to Cary city codeand fire ordinance rules. The hotel does not permit theaffixing of anything to walls, floors, or ceilings of roomswith nails, staples, tape or any other adhesive unlessapproval is given in advance.
