Lion king is a Mega musical due to its long existing, and its incredible five star rated movie, the movie was a worldwide seller and won best family movie. The Musical won best musical in 1998 and again won 2008 best musical, which makes the musical a mega musical.

Lion king is different to other musicals in previous years as there were no problems in society, so got more of an audience for example ‘The great depression’ put many of musicals out of business.

Another reason for Lion king being different to previous musicals are the facilities and technology musicals like lion king have today such as the staging (more room), better lighting, better musical software's such as ‘Apple’ and better costumes.

One more last example is the audience, previous musicals were so picky on which gender goes to which musical, whereas know anyone can go to any musical, from any age, any size and any gender. Everyone are equal, whereas previous musicals weren’t.
