This glorious piece of modern Islamic architecture was a gift to the nation from their Sultan to mark the 30th year of his reign, built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone and can house 20,000 at a time. A major feature of the design of the interior is the carpet which covers the floor of the hall. X is a shieldmaiden and a valkyrie in Germanic mythology, where she appears as a main character in the Völsunga saga and some Eddic poems. Her saga includes fratricide, a long battle between brothers, and dealings with the Huns. She is also known as Sigrdrífa, as written in the poem Sigrdrífumál.

A short version of her story was popularly told by a German immigrant to his American friend but he did not mention the later part of her story where she was deceived by her lover who had saved her from distress.

After the release of the Tom Cruise vehicle Risky Business in 1983, their product X quickly became their best-selling one. However, as soon as the 90s rolled in, X's sales began to rapidly decline, only to be greatly outnumbered by another product Y, because, of course, it was worn by Tom Cruise in a slightly speedier vehicle.

X and Y?

X began to be used as an expression to denote ”the new breed” or “someone who s impatient for change” around the earlier part of the 20th century. William Safire states that Churchill used this expression in a conference in 1953, saying to the American president “You’re just like the X in my govt.”

The expression has been used in its literal meaning, well before this time, and dates back to the early 19th century, to connotate a political reform, carried out mainly by Xs. As the Salisury and Winchester journal from 1828 puts it:

The Xs, of all classes, are excercising themselvesin the use of arms in the European manner. The enthusiasm for the Sultan has risen to the highestpitch.

The movie was made at a time in England when the rich were paying "crazy" taxes, 80 to 90 percent. All the music stars had made lots of money and were looking for ways of creating tax losses to salvage their earnings. The film makers began producing, with the help of a fundraising concert headlined by Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd as they were very well under budgeted .There is no ad-libbing; everything was scripted and rehearsed, which helped to keep down the cost. Another way this movie cut down on its budget was a hilarious discussion in the movie over coconuts and the flight dynamics of migratory birds.

Which cult classic film and how did they get across the budget problem?

There was no money to use real horses for the film and so the Pythons decided that their characters would mime horse-riding while their porters trotted behind them banging coconut shells together.

A book produced with French photographer Robert Descharnes in 1962 was promoted by the author who dressed in a golden robe and lay on a bed in a Manhattan bookstore. Attended by a doctor, a nurse and his wife, he signed books while wired to a machine that recorded his brain waves and blood pressure. A copy of this data was then presented to the purchasers after which the author drove off in a Rolls Royce filled with cauliflowers.

Who was the author?

These have a cut in the back of the cup known as visors. Most disciplines do not permit their use and when they are allowed, they are usually seen attached to a synthetic hood or the cheekpieces.

X is fermented Baltic sea herring and is a staple of traditional northern Swedish cuisine since at least the 16th century. Just enough salt is used to prevent the raw fish from rotting. A fermentation process of at least six months gives the lightly-salted fish its characteristic strong smell and somewhat acidulous taste.

According to a Japanese study, a newly opened can of X has one of the most putrid food smells in the world which have led to it even being banned from major airlines such as British Airways and Air France.

German food critic and author Wolfgang Fassbender wrote that "the biggest challenge when eating X is to vomit only after the first bite, as opposed to before.“

century most governments discouraged, even banned the mention of X, mainly because Y was a beloved and popular figure, especially among children.

During the filming of Casablanca, Director Michael Curtiz’sHungarian accent was a source of numerous misunderstandings. In one of the most infamous but hilarious incidents, Curtiz asked for a X to be placed on set for the scene.
