Major Program

• What will I study and ultimately get my degree on?

Uhhh…I had never thought of going past the academy. If I get accepted and I graduate from the academy I plan to continue serving in the Coast Guard. If I ever decide to leave the military I would like to go into law enforcement. (homicide)

Other Information

• Challenging: Cadets take math, science, nautical science, engineering, and liberal arts they are also expected to finish in four years.

• Physical: Rigorous physical training is part of a cadets daily life at the academy.

• Military: A relentless experience with valuable rewards.

WHY?!?!?!

Why did I choose the USCGA? I choose it because I think it would be a good experience and a great opportunity. I have always wanted to join the military and go to college at the same time. I thought I had to choose one or the other until my ROTC teacher informed me of this academy. Money is also an issue when talking about college and well the academy is tuition free. When I was a little girl my dad always told me if I was a guy he would want me to join the marines. But I found the coast guard way more interesting. I would like to save someone’s life every time I get a chance to because if it would be mine or someone I love life I’d like someone to save them too. I want to find it just another part of the job.
