They can be unicellular or pluricellular, but they are very simple

They do not form tissues

They have eukaryotic cells, with a nucleus

They have many organelles in the cytoplasm

They are divided into two groups

Algae

Protozoa

They are not plants because they do not have tissues, stems, roots or leaves

They can be unicellular or pluricellular

They live in an aquatic environment

Freshwater or salt water

Red Algae

Brown Algae

Green Algae

Protozoa

They are eukaryotes

They are all unicellular

They are heterotrophs, which means that they feed on substances found in the water

They live in the water

They move themselves with:

Flagellum (Flagella plural)

Cilium (Cilia plural)

Pseudopods

They can reproduce in three ways:

Binary division

Gemmation

Through spores

Some are parasites and cause diseases

For example, sleeping sickness is produced by a protozoa and is transmitted through a mosquito bite
