The future of Business in Nottingham

The Future40 Club is Nottinghamshire’s most prestigious business lunch network. Comprised of the county’s most influential businesspeople under the age of 40, it puts a new twist on a Great British institution, the business lunch.

Members will convene on a quarterly basis at Hart’s Restaurant, Nottingham’s premier eatery, for a fine luncheon and to hear thought-provoking keynote addresses from some of the country’s most prominent business leaders and industry experts.

The club was founded to bring together our most dynamic young business talent and to give them an environment in which to exchange ideas and forge new relationships. In doing so, we intend to strengthen the business community with the future very much in mind.

The Future40 club is national in its scale and ambition. Membership will connect you not only to the local elite but also to the cream of the UK business community by way of broader regional and national events as well as the Future40 website and forum.

We believe the future of business in Nottinghamshire, and further afield, lies in encouraging the key decision-makers to work together in the common interest. In focusing on those currently establishing themselves among the vanguard of business, we hope to make major in-roads into reaching that goal.

By stimulating the flow of ideas and by providing the cream of our business community the opportunity to build ever stronger relationships, the Future40 Club brings renewed energy and verve to the business lunch.

There is no finer place to do this than the multi award-winning Hart’s Restaurant.

Future 40 Club – The Future of Business in Nottingham

Matthew Hayes, MD Champions (UK) plc

“By singling out and bringing together the

brightest and best young business talent in the county, the Future40

Club will celebrate those with the most potential and help them build solid and lasting relationships that strengthen the Nottingham

business community and prepare it for an even more prosperous future. The nature of the club will ensure those links are extended throughout Britain

and our members will have access to the very best talent this country has to offer. We want to

celebrate your success and connect you with like-minded people. We want to recognise your abilities and connect you with those

who share your drive and flair.”

Behind every successful enterprise, large and small, are its people. People provide the passion and inspiration, people deliver the success.

The club is the brainchild of Matthew Hayes, Managing Director of Champions (UK) plc and a multiple award winning entrepreneur.

Having set up the brand agency from home in 2003 at the age of 23, he has attracted scores of high profile clients by delivering clear, bottom-line results and has overseen exponential growth of the company – 889% since 2009 alone. Now operating from recently extended 13,000 sq. ft. offices on the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire border, Champions are projected to turnover £20 million in 2015.

In 2014 Matthew was himself singled out as one of the UK’s most outstanding entrepreneurs aged 35 or under in Growing Business’ Young Guns ‘Class of 2014’ list, whose alumni include the founders of Agent Provocateur, MyVoucherCodes, Mixcloud and Huddle. Hart’s Restaurant

www.hartsnottingham.co.uk

Hart’s is a busy 80-seater restaurant which has for some eleven years claimed the title of Nottingham’s most successful up-market eatery. Hart’s provides a thoroughly professional blend of skilled service and modern British cooking in a stylish and comfortable interior.

A dream location, Hart’s Hotel is situated next door just 5 minutes’ walk from Nottingham city centre in a cul-de-sac without through traffic. On one side there’s a quiet courtyard, on the other views over the whole city and a secluded garden.

Hart’s Restaurant has been Nottingham’s most successful up-scale dining place since 1997.

The à la carte menu is strong on fresh fish and game and the wine list is a tour de force.

Hart’s Upstairs is situated above the restaurant and is the city’s favourite meeting point for private parties, weddings and business meetings with a capacity up to 100 and just the right ambience for everything the Future40 Club aims to achieve.

Business, when you boil it down, is ultimately about human interaction. The links between companies and organisations are established and maintained by people and it is people who make things happen.

“Networking is marketing. Marketing yourself, marketing your uniqueness, marketing what you stand for.” Christine Comaford, 5 time CEO and tech advisor to Clinton and Bush administrations.

Networking has long been recognized as a powerful tool for businesspeople and professionals. It allows people to grow their circle and extend their reach. Research shows that people who are well networked are three times more influential than people who are not.

That influence is based on the social capital we develop by building relationships with the people in our network. It takes time and, most of all, opportunity. The Future40 Club delivers on both counts.

The club will help members build their network in an environment full of like-minded people, with similar experiences, aspirations and a shared interest in businesses prospering together.

The Power of Networking

The insights of our elite business speakers will act as catalysts for communication, stimulating conversation and fostering a sense of belonging between you and your fellow club members.

“The currency of real networking is not greed but generosity.” Keith Ferrazzi, US author and strategy consultancy founder.

Our members will have the chance to promote their company’s brand, along with its products, services and wider offering, plus the opportunity for their company to sponsor one of the lunches and benefit from interviews and highly favourable coverage in the Nottingham Post, who have agreed to work in partnership with the Future40 Club.

Sponsors will also receive valuable exposure, in the form of interviews and profiling, in Aspirational Magazine. The East Midlands’ leading lifestyle publication is targeted at businesses and high net worth individuals and showcases many of the world’s most prestigious brands.

There is also the opportunity to provide quality content and personalised features for the Future40 Club website, which will connect you to a nationwide network of your peers, the future leaders of business in the United Kingdom.

The future of Business in Nottingham

Champions is launching the club with gusto in the autumn of 2015. Our first lunch is set to take place at Hart’s on Tuesday 17th November and will give members an early opportunity to experience the club environment and connect people on your level.

Our guests will be welcomed by our excellent team and, having enjoyed a fantastic meal, the Future40 Club will deliver its first dose of inspiration. We’ve lined up one of the most original, up-and-coming motivational speakers, a young woman who is currently making waves at high profile business events – Bonita Norris.

A truly remarkable young lady, Bonita is not afraid of setting herself tough goals and then going out and achieving them. Aged just 22, she reached the summit of Mt. Everest in 2010 and announced herself to the mountaineering community as the youngest ever British woman to stand on top of the world.

She has guided charity treks to the summit of Kilimanjaro, skied to the geographic North Pole and led assaults on other Himalayan mountains, such as Ama Dablam, Manaslu and Island Peak and plans further record-breaking expeditions for the future.

With an old head on her young shoulders and with a serious set of life experiences already under her belt, she has a fascinating repertoire and a real ability to convey ideas. She is at her best energising people, pushing them to push themselves to the limit in their quest for what is possible.

This is a prime opportunity, reserved solely for the cream of the under 40 business crop. You’ll meet like-minded people and bond with highly capable leaders who, like you, want to drive Nottinghamshire forward into the future.

This November’s inaugural lunch will kick the club off in style but we’re already planning 2016’s quarterly events.

As one of the UK’s foremost after dinner speaker agencies, Champions have access to the very best business and motivational speakers.

Introducing great keynote speakers to Future40 events will add an extra dimension of inspiration and bring powerful new ideas to the fore.

The fresh and independent perspectives of quality speakers can change the scope and direction of broader conversation and highlight excellent parallels found in other fields.

We intend to make next year’s club lunches both challenging and wide-ranging and to encourage open discussion and new ways of thinking.

Here’s just a flavour of the keynote speakers we will deliver to inform, stimulate and inspire Future40 Club members.
