FOREWORD
The Florida Artist Group is pleased to have the opportunity once more of presenting for circuit the work of twenty-eight artists whose paintings were selected .from the Thirteenth Annual Exhibition held in Daytona Beach in April, 1962. The j uror, Gibson A. Danes, Dean {)f the School of Art and Architecture of Yale University, is well known in the art world as a painter, art historian, author, lecturer and editor. At the Symposium Dean Danes gave an illuminating address on "The Externality and Internality of Painting". It is a pleasure to add his name to our list of distinguished jurors of the past:

The Florida Artist Group is unique in the respect that it has as a prime interest the circuit-ing of the paintings of outstanding Florida artists to other parts of the nation. The organization is a non-profit, educational organization with a select membership of one hundred and twenty· five as a maximum. Only artists residing in Florida are eligible. The group consists of practicing artists who have gained recognition nationally or on a state-wide or regional basis and whose work contributes significantly to its exhibi tions. Through the years these circuit shows have been exhibited from coast to coast in the United Stal es and Canada. Each year a Symposium and Exhibition is held in a differen t cit y in Florida. Proceedings of the Symposium, . catalogues of the exhibition and circuit show are available upon request.
