This is the film ident. It is conventional that it come at the beginning of the title sequence. This shows the audience the companies which have been involved. involved

Page 2: Memento

This is the title of the film. It is shown in the beginning of the opening title sequence.

Page 3: Memento

This is a extreme close up of a photograph of a blooded room taken by the main character. This is a picture of a crime, which makes audience this whether he is a detective or did he do the crime. This makes the audience intrigued to see what’s going to happen next. Also as the opening sequence it is slow pace and shows information such as the actors names.

Page 4: Memento

This is an extreme close up of a man taking a photograph. However in the clip, it shows the photo being taken in a reverse order. This is because the film structure is that they start off from the end of the film to the beginning. Showing how the man was killed, and reasons why. Also the use of photo’s being taken is very conventional for a crime/thriller as it creates mystery.

Page 5: Memento

This is an extreme close up of the man who has taken the photographs. The mise en scene of costume/ makeup shows scars on the character's face which may suggest that he has been apart of some sort of crime, or he is a violent character. However the scars gives a masculine look.

Page 6: Memento

This is an extreme close up of a fluid which looks like blood which is gushing in reverse order. It may be blood from a person or blood which is around the room.

This is slightly a shallow focus of the bullet. Which is also a extreme close ups

This extreme close up of the glasses shows that there is an investigation going on, looking around crime scene of main objects. Blood shows that there has clearly been a crime and someone may of gotten shot. These camera shots slowly drops clues to show what has happened. As it gives a small introduction to what the film is about. Also the Extreme close up shows that it is around a Gritty urban location

Page 8: Memento

This is a high angle of a victim who is being killed, this makes him look very weak and powerless. The mise-en-scene around his shows how his belongings such as his glasses are scattered around him and there is blood all over. This yet again emphasizes that he has no control and is weak. His position shows that he has fallen. However as his face is not shown, we do not know who it is, therefore it gives a mysterious atmosphere.

Page 9: Memento

This high angle shows what the extreme close ups, and close ups are about as it suggest what's happening. He May of been kidnapped and shot. Looks like the crime has been planned as he is in an isolated, harsh looking environment. Yet again this has emphasis on a mysterious atmosphere.

Page 10: Memento

This extreme close up of the man and his facial features such as his eye and nose. This give a mysterious look to the character, as it makes you think what his role may be. Also the low key lighting creates an eerie atmosphere which matches the thriller genre of this film. Signifies to a different scene maybe flashback.

Page 11: Memento

Shows a photographs of what may be of the crime. These would slowly hint what has happened and how it happened. It is conventional for a crime/thriller to have photo’s which tell the story.

Page 12: Memento

Now know this is the crime scene. All the clues from the extreme close ups and close ups add up to the same locations and objects. Slow reveal to show who has been shot/ the crime.
