simple for out-of-state investors. “You make one phone call,” states Chris, “and you’ve got every department any answer — access to every single person in this company, so [the process is] very stream-lined.”

Chris believes that successful investors possess some common traits — “they have to be inquisitive, they have to have curios-ity. They shouldn’t ever take everything at face value. They should be inquisitive as to who they’re dealing with, and what mar-kets that they’re looking to buy in. They should be willing and able to do some homework, look around, and ask the right questions. They should also have a long term mentality. This is not get rich quick by any means. The other thing that inves-tors need to be successful in long-term buy and hold, is they need access to capital. No money down is not an avenue to success. You have to have access to some capital and be able to build a long-term portfolio whether you use straight cash or some kind of leverage.”
