mental space is pleased to present an exhibition of the installative work by Alexander Poliček. This will be the gal-lery’s first solo exhibition with the Berlin based artist.
Conscious treatment of the exhibition space, was a task of minimal artists since the sixties. ″Le Vide″ as a pionee-ring exhibition concept by Yves Klein was a presentation of a completely empty exhibition space at the Iris Clert gallery in 1958 in Paris. The radical state-ment led to the key questions about observation of an art-work in relation to Far Eastern concepts in which emptiness became a state of being.
″light piece″, 2013 combines a strong sculptural presence with ephemeral space expansi-on. The Position of the instal-lation is oriented to welcome the visitor. Synchronization of different medias is guided by the strong physical light erupti-on. The light is blinding out not only the tubular scaffold, but also the whole gallery space, emphasizes time as the fourth dimension of the picture. Repe-titive extension of the image and sculpture into movement, time and the participation of the viewer.
