This term has started, like so many before it, with great energy and enthusi-asm being displayed by staff and students. We really are so lucky to be part of a school that demonstrates such a dynamic environment whenever members of our community come together.
At the end of last term our Cadet Unit conducted its annual camp at Puckapunyal with a highly successful training program in place. Once again, our staff and students returned tired, largely unwashed and smelly but having had an amazing time. This is our Unit’s 75th Year and, it is fair to say, that the program and engagement of our unit is at peak levels. Well done to all involved.
Our Year 8 students were also undertaking their International Learning Journey and, on the first Saturday of the holidays, the last groups returned from either China, Nepal, Vietnam or Cambodia. On Tuesday night of this week they held their Presenta-tion Evening which is the culmination of the journeys. The learning was certainly deep from all of these trips; not only about the cultures they experienced but also about themselves as people. I am proud to lead a School that challenges 14 year olds with such thought-provoking journeys but also one that has staff queuing up to support the students in their endeavours. Commen-dation goes to all involved in this incredible learning opportunity. Well done Year 8 and your staff!
As our Year 12 students prepare to finish off their formal classes in the next couple of weeks, before a short study vacation and their examinations, I am sure we are all thinking of them and their teachers. The VCE is a challenging program and students who complete it are to be commended for their application. Best wishes to our Year 12 students for the weeks ahead.

There are a lot of events this term which will celebrate various successes. They all represent a great opportunity for parents to engage with their children here at the School, at sporting venues, at the forthcoming Art and Design Exhi-bition, at the Bayview Production of Shrek and at our end of year celebrations. Please avail yourself of the opportuni-ty to engage with your child at these events and share in some special time together.
I wish all members of the School Community well for another rewarding term.
