THE SCIENCEBEHIND 7KRAVE:Satisfaction of every craving with NCB ECOMMERCE29 year old Rory White has always been a great math student. There was just something about numbers that sent his brain into calculation mode. Because of this, he decided to pursue a career in Actuarial Science. But, little did he know that the career path he envisioned would not have been to his satisfaction.

After a few exams, decided to, instead, venture into a career centred around Entrepreneurship and Computer Science. This led to the development of his company Innovative Menu Solutions, known for its increasingly popular digital application, 7Krave. In 2014, Rory, who was new to the Computer Science scene, embarked on a journey to provide solutions to every day challenges. His wife, who was pregnant a year before, brought up the challenge she was having in finding food that would satisfy her cravings. With that, Rory found himself a team of five and took on the mission of developing an application that would act as a food community, bringing persons closer to the items they were craving.

Rory, having scouted overseas for a service provider for his start-up, subsequently selected NCB as his financial partner to help get his

business off the ground. Through NCB, he received a practical and reliable payments solution and since 2016, 7Krave has been hosted on NCB’s eCommerce facility. The

Platform allows users to download the app for mobile devices or browse online at https://www.7krave.com/; order and pay for meals for delivery within the Kingston & St. Andrew area. 7Krave accepts all major credit cards, including NCB’s KeyCard. 7Krave ‘s success continues to grow with them currently

boasting over 7,000 users and 43 restaurant partners. Since inception, Rory has maintained a strong relationship with NCB, receiving helpful advice from the Payment Services Division through his Sales and Relationship Officer Dezrine McCalla who handheld him through the process until the eCommerce platform was launched.

1. INTRODUCTION OF MERCHANT COMPLIANCE PROGRAMMEIn partnership with ControlScan, a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), we have implemented a compliance programme aimed at helping you protect your cardholder data and protect your financial resources, all with one simple programmme.

How do you participate?Simply, complete a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) on an annual basis and achieve a passing score.

*If your processing systems have any Internet connectivity, a quarterly security scan is required.

THE NCB MERCHANT PCI COMPLIANCE PROGRAMME:

f Gives you access to a simple online questionnaire (provided by ControlScan) that will help ensure that you are compliant;

f Provides proof of your compliance in the form of a Certificate and report to the Card Association when you have successfully completed the questionnaire;

f Facilitates free quarterly or annual network vulnerability scan, should you be required by the Card Association to conduct them.

EMV CHIP CARDS ARE NOW BEING ROLLED OUT TO NCB CARDHOLDERS.The roll out is being done on a phased basis starting with Visa Classic and Visa Gold.

With EMV chip cards, information is stored on a chip, embedded right in the card. The chip acts as a micro-computer, helping to protect cardholder information. Each time the card is used in store or at an ABM, a unique number is generated, making the chip card almost impossible for fraudsters to counterfeit.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Cards will have a new look

Cardholders will receive a credit card that will now have a chip embedded in the card along with the magnetic strip.

A Personal Identification number (PIN) is required to complete transactions

Instead of swiping your card and signing at the end of the transaction, you will insert the card into the card reader terminal and when prompted by the terminal, you will be asked to enter your 4-digit PIN, just like you would for a debit card or at the ABM.

All cards will require activation

New, replacement, re-issued or renewal cards will all have to be activated.

Cardholders will be required to create a 4 digit PIN at the time of activating

Cards cannot be activated without the selection of a PIN. Primary and supplementary cardholders must each select their own PIN. Card Activation will now be done through NCB Telephone Banking or NCB Online.Gold
