Meet the DesignerEsperanza Merida is the co-founder and Design Director of Merida Diamonds. She is also the winner of (2) categories in the 2016 JCK Jewelers’ Choice Awards as well as the 2014 winner of Stuller 's National engagement ring design contest.
Fifteen years ago, a colleague introduced Esperanza Merida to computer aided design (CAD) for the Jewelry Industry. Throughout the following 9 years she worked as a manufacturer’s CAD designer where she created custom designs for other jewelry stores within the Houston Area. Throughout her career, Esperanza has used her extensive CAD design experience to help other's in the Jewelry Industry; from training, other jewelry designers to providing on going CAD expertise for other jewelers and manufacturers.
Much of her designs are packed with rich detail, incorporating elements such as milgrain, filigree and open work. Yet, somehow, she manages to artistically put it all together into a luxurious and beautifully designed piece that captivates. Her designs for women are meant to be bold, powerful and sophisticated while maintaining a feminine and delicate beauty about them. All her pieces are designed to be cast in either 950 platinum or 18K rose, yellow and white gold, before being expertly set with the finest diamonds and colorful gemstones.
