Merry Christmas! PO Box 485, Griffith NSW 2680 Ph: 6962 8100 www.griffith.nsw.gov.au www.facebook.com/griffithcitycouncil RM2217574 AS 2014 draws to a close, and we become busy with preparations for the Christmas and holiday season, I would like to thank residents once again for their hard work, passion and commitment to making Griffith the rich, vibrant and magnificent community it is today. I find it deeply gratifying to know everyone is working to ensure our region thrives and prospers, from our volunteers who are ordinary people doing extraordinary work, to our seniors, students and family members, and to our agricultural and business communities, among many others. As the Mayor of Griffith, I am also proud to work alongside our councillors and Council staff whose top priority is to make Griffith a beautiful place to live, work and visit for residents, guests, and those looking to relocate or invest. I reflect on 2014 as the year our community achieved many successes, including reaching the $1 million fundraising goal for the St Vincent's Private Community Hospital Griffith, a remarkable testament to the hard work and determination of our residents. I am pleased to note that the private hospital lease is signed and construction is set for 2015. We also celebrate the launch in March this year of the Griffith-to-Melbourne flights by Par Avion, providing a valuable pathway between the two cities. These are two of several key milestones that demonstrate what can be achieved when we all work together. As I look ahead to 2015, I plan to work with my fellow councillors to continue creating more employment opportunities for our city, aim to complete important projects for Griffith and look into ways we can continue to grow and succeed. Christmas is a time where families come together to celebrate, but it can also be a difficult time for many who are less fortunate. I encourage everyone to consider volunteering or donating to the many wonderful local organisations dedicated to helping people in need. I wish you all a joyous and safe Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May next year bring hope, peace and happiness to our community. Together we will help our city move forward with confidence into the future. Sincerely Councillor John Dal Broi Mayor of Griffith Seasons Greetings from Griffith City Council
