SustainableFeaturesPhotovoltaic(solar)panelsattachedtothetopoftheattachedparkingstructurewillhelpoffsetenergyneedsforboththePoliceStationandthenearbyAlliedHealthbuilding.Nearlytwothirds ofconstructionwastewasdivertedfromthelocallandfill,exceedingthe50%requirementintheDistrictsGreenBuildingPolicy.AsaparticipantinSanDiegoGas&ElectricsSustainableCommunitiesProgram,theprojectachieves significant energy savings Here are someachievessignificantenergysavings.Here aresomeexamples:

Thefacilityis12.9%betterthanCaliforniasTitle24codeforenergyefficiency Includingthephotovoltaicarray,theoffices are45%betterthanTitle24;orabout50%totalbuilding energy cost savings compared to standardbuildingenergycostsavingscomparedtostandard. Onsiterenewableenergyproductionwillaccountforaboutathirdofannualtotalbuildingenergycost.
