"We teach students to create, connect, and collaborate—for life!" October 14, 2016 Dear Mesa School Community, This week-end and on Monday and Tuesday, October 17 and 18, 2016, Mesa Union School District will be leasing the big parking lot between the school and the highway to Disney Studios for a film shoot. Disney will be using the area for parking, logistics, and catering. They’ll start work quite early in the morning and finish after dark both days. The compensation received by Disney will be used to enrich the instructional program at Mesa. It is exciting that we are establishing this continuing partnership, for the mutual benefit of the students and the entire Mesa community. Thanking you in advance for your extra parking lot patience on Monday and Tuesday. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Very truly yours,

Dr. Stephen Bluestein Principal

Kindergarten: Heroes and PrincessesFrom Captain America to Princess Leia...

This basket is all about the characters kids love.

1st Grade: Parents’ Night OutThis basket might contain gift cards for movies or restaurants...

And, so that parents can get away, certificates for day camp or child care.

2nd Grade: Family Fun NightThink about all the things that families might enjoy doing together...

from eating, to watching movies, to playing games.

3rd Grade: Let’s Go OutsideEncourage our kids (and parents) to enjoy the outdoors...

This might be anything from Nerf, to gardening, to camping gear.

4th Grade: Building ImaginationTraditionally we’ve had an all Lego basket...

This year we’d like to expand that to all types of building and learning toys.

5th Grade: The Kitchen is the Heart of the HomeInclude anything from cookbooks to utensils, to spices, maybe even decor...

A lot of family bonding happens in the kitchen

6th Grade: Geared Toward DadsLet’s not leave the men out. From golf to car washes...

The idea here is to include things that might appeal to them.
