WHATS NEWWe continue to expand our line of Urbino Tactical stocks for Benelli and Rem-

ington shotguns. By teaming with California-based Freedom Fighter Tactical, weare now able to offer complete stock and forend sets in coyote color for the BenelliM4. We are also offering Riser Ready versions of the Benelli M4 stock: ready toaccept a cheek riser, but with the cheek riser sold separately (see page 4).

Ever since we introduced our Saddle Mount SureShell carriers for the Rem-ington platform, Mossberg owners have been beseeching us for integrated rail andshell carrier assemblies for Mossberg 500 and Mossberg 590 shotguns. We nallyobliged them with our new SureShell Carrier and Rail for Mossberg 500 (see page 13).

We are also responding to what we perceive as the increasing use of H&K style(dog leash) sling hooks by producing hook loops that replace the rear sling loopson Benelli tactical stocks (page 27) and the Urbino Tactical stocks(page 29), as well asversions for Benelli and Vang Comp magazine extensions (page 26).

Meanwhile, we have nally retired our Low-tube stock adapters, as well as stockadapters for the Winchester 1300.

URBINO TACTICAL

STOCK SYSTEM

Developed to meet the needsof law enforcement and military op-erators, the rugged Urbino Tactical stockfeatures a tactical 12 inch length of pull (LoP),Santoprene rubber grip, optional Limbsaver buttpad, optional adjustable cheek riser and a variety ofexible sling mounting options.

The reduced LoP makes the Urbino the rst truly tactical stock for the Benellishotguns. A shorter stock is necessary for use in tactical applications, especially withbody armor. The Urbino Tactical stock is durable, easy to shoulder and will not slip.

The Urbino Tactical stock is also comfortable, thus reducing operator fatigue,especially during prolonged training and qualication sessions. The Santoprenegrip is padded at the rear to reduce recoil impact against the web of the operatorshand, and the optional Limbsaver buttpad substantially reduces felt recoil.

The eld-adjustable cheek riser was developed to provide superior cheek weldwhen using optics. The cheekpiece snaps onto rails molded into the sides of specially

equipped Urbino stock armatures. In the event of optics failure, the cheek riser canbe quickly removed or readjusted to a lower level. Specially-developed SureShellshotshell carriers can be tted to the cheek riser (see page 17). While rail-equippedUrbino stocks can be used without the cheekpiece,cheek risers cannot be tted to stocks thatdo not have the rails.

All Urbino Tactical stocks aremade in the USA, and include Benelli-style rear sling loops for 1 inch slingwebbing. In addition, a hole at thelower rear of the stock accepts QDstyle sling swivels (not included). Urbino Tactical stocks can also be tted withany of a variety of optional steel pocket sling mounts similar to those offered forour Remington telescoping stock adapters. Pocket sling loops, hook loops andpush-button sling swivel mounts that t securely between the Urbino stock andthe shotgun receiver are listed on page 28.

Urbino Tactical stocks for the Benelli M4 are available in black or coyote color.We also offer US-made forend halves from Freedom Fighter Tactical that match thecoyote colored Urbino Tactical stocks. These forends can be purchased separatelyor as part of our new stock and forend sets.

Riser Ready Urbino Tactical stocks, available for the Benelli M4, featurecheek riser stock armatures without the cheek risers. Cheek risers can be purchasedseparately at any time and tted to Riser Ready stocks.

TELESCOPING STOCK

AND ADAPTER KITS

The concept behind the telescop-ing stock system is simple: theshotgun stock is replaced by anadapter, which attaches to the rearend of the shotguns receiver and it,in turn, mimics the rear end of an AR-15 lower receiver, into which an AR-15 receiver extension tube can be threaded. TheAR-15 telescoping stock and pistol grip can then be reliably attached.

Our stock adapters, manufactured for the Remington 870 and Mossberg500/590, are investment cast aircraft aluminum. They are then CNC machined andanodized with a Type III Class 2 mil-spec nish. The ITT Enidine recoil buffer isalso CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and meets the stringent standards ofmilitary and law enforcement users.

To meet the requirements of profes-sional operators as well as competitors, weoffer two lines of telescoping stock systems:High-tube and LEO.

The LEO adapter is our most basic, best-selling model, and features an optimal stockelevation allowing the use of iron sights oreven the bead sight. All LEO adapters acceptoptional push-button sling swivels, and Rem-ington 870 LEO adapters can accept stampedsteel sling loop and hook loops.

Our High-tube adapters, which featurea much higher stock elevation (equivalent to an AR-15) and require an optics rail(included), are specialized adapters for unusual law enforcement applications orcompetition. Accessory mounting points on the sides of the High-tube aluminumadapters accept Picatinny rails, sling mounts or Mesa Tactical shell carriers, and aretted with Timesert steel thread inserts for strength and long life.

TELESCOPING STOCK ADAPTER

AND STOCK KITSOur aluminum adapter kits include everythingnecessary to retrot Remington or Mossberg pump

shotguns with most AR-15 style stocks and pistolgrips. Our adapter kits allow customers to add theirown AR-15 stock assemblies as desired.

Our complete stock kits are more comprehensive. They include the aluminumAR adapter; Hogue rubber overmolded grip; US-made mil-spec four-position M4SOPMOD style telescoping stock assembly; and all necessary assembly hardwareand instructions. The High-tube stock kits also include a receiver-length top Pica-tinny rail. A Telescoping Shotgun Stock Multi-tool and push-button sling swivel

are included with every stock kit.

HYDRAULIC RECOIL BUFFERThe ITT Enidine hydraulic recoil buffer can take the place of the receiver extensiontube, converting the AR-15 telescoping stock into a recoil-buffered stock assemblywithout further modication. Recoil-buffered versions are available for all three ofthe telescoping stock systems, or the recoil buffer can be purchased separately (seepage 8). The recoil buffer accepts mil-spec dimensioned buttstocks.

Our basic kits include the adapter and all necessary installation hardware. Nogunsmithing is required for installation.


LEO: LEO adapters feature afactory stock elevation for use withreceiver-mounted sights or no sightsat all. While all adapters are designed for

installation on 12 gauge shotguns, the LEOTelescoping Stock Adapter for Remington 870 canalso be tted to 20 gauge Remington 870s.

BUTT PADS AND RECOIL BUFFERSBecause those M4 telescoping stocks were not designed with shotguns in mindthey arent the most comfortable buttstocks.We recommend you use some kind of buttpad, and we offer two styles. USGI-style slip-on rubber butt pads expand the butts surfacearea and make it easier and more comfortableto shoulder and re your weapon, though theydo not offer any recoil absorption.

LimbSaver slip-on recoil pads feature a patented three-steprecoil reduction technology that reduces up to 70% of felt recoil, and maintainstarget acquisition. They feature a 12-month warranty by Limbsaver.

Any Mesa Tactical telescoping stock kit can be upgraded with anITT Enidine hydraulic recoil buffer to reduce felt recoil by up to70%. SURESHELL

SHOTSHELL CARRIERS

Our SureShell shotshell carriers retain ammunition reliablyand, being metal, can withstand the rigors of daily use andabuse. Fabricated from aircraft aluminum, they featurean innovative rubber friction retention system and toughconstruction to endure years of use and abuse. Since theirintroduction in the spring of 2005, they have rapidly become ourbest-selling accessories, and an emerging industry standard.

SureShell carrier yokes are milled from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum, then bead

blasted and mil-spec hard anodized for a rugged non-glare nish. SureShell yokesare secured to application-specic brackets, and some SureShell carriers includehigh temperature adhesive-backed die-cut rubber gaskets to protect the host shot-guns nish.

RECEIVER MOUNT SURESHELL

SHOTSHELL CARRIERS

Most of our SureShell shotshell carriers mount di-rectly to the receiver of leading shotgun platforms.

REMINGTONMesa Tactical offers two methods for mounting SureShell shot-shell carriers to Remington 870, Remington 1100 and Remington 11-87 shotguns.Our traditional side mount SureShell carriers attach via at aluminum brackets tothe sides of the shotgun receiver. We also offer unique saddle rail SureShell carriers

that combine a shell carrier with a MIL-STD-1913 (NATO STANAG 4694) Picatinnyrail that accepts optical sights.

Saddle mount shell carriers are not yet available for the Remington 887 shotgun.

SIDE MOUNT

The receiver mounting scheme of our receivermount SureShell carriers for the Remingtonshotguns depends on a combination of steel

fasteners threaded into a steel pin (at the rear)and paired Chicago screws (up front) for moresecure attachment to the shotgun without the riskof pinching the receiver. The mounting plate even featuresa window over the shotgun serial number location, to make it easier forarmorers to inventory their weapons.

Note that SureShell shotshell carriers can-not be installed on the right side of Remingtonsemi-auto shotguns.

To use a six- and eight-shot SureShell car-rier mounted on the left side of the Remington

870 shotgun, you must use a tactical forend thatdoes not overlap the receiver, or a factory forend that is cutdown appropriately. SureFire forends are fully compatible withour six-shot SureShell carriers, but will need about inch shaved offthe end to be installed with our eight-shot SureShell carriers.

The factory forend on the Remington 887 must be cut down in any case beforeinstalling any SureShell carrier.

Remington side mount SureShell carriers are available in both 12 gauge and

20 gauge models (except Remington 887).

No gunsmithing is required to install the SureShell SaddleRail, except for optional forend alterations as described above under sidemount carriers. Saddle Rails are also available without the shell carriers (see page 19)

MOSSBERGThere are two mounting methods forSureShell carriers on the Mossberg plat-forms; side mount and top mount (withintegrated optics rail).

SIDE MOUNT

The side mount scheme of our shotgun SureShell shotshell carriersfor the Mossberg 500/590 substitutes two custom-machined steel Chicagoscrews for the trigger pin. At the front of the mounting plate, custom retainingsteel hardware is used with an elongated extractor screw and a machined key holein the plate. The Mossberg 930 mounting system is similar, except it uses twosets of Chicago screws in place of the two trigger pins. The mounting plate was

designed not to obscure the receiver serial number to make it easier for armorersto inventory their weapons.

BARREL AND MAGAZINE CLAMPS

Mesa Tactical Magazine and Barrel Clampsprovide mounting points for Picatinny rails,

weapon lights and sling attachments near themuzzle of a tactical shotgun. Both designsare CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum, TypeIII anodized to military specications. Threadedattachment points feature Timesert steel thread in-serts for long thread life, even after repeated mounting and removal of accessories.

The Mesa Tactical Magazine Clamp can be used to moresecurely retain aftermarket or factory magazine exten-

sions, while at the same time offering exible ac-cessory mounting options near the shotgunmuzzle. Magazine clamps are available witha push-button quick release sling swivel or atwo inch MIL-STD-1913 (NATO STANAG4694) Picatinny rail that can accept standardweapon light mounts.

The Magazine Clamp can also be used to

mount one inch diameter weapon lightssimply by clamping one side to theshotgun barrel and the other side to thelight body (recommended for use withshotguns with tall front sight posts).

Our Barrel Clamp offers an accessorymount point for shotguns that do not have extended magazines. Its unique clamp-ing mechanism ensures a secure t even under recoil.

PICATINNY RAILS

Mesa Tactical has long been a sup-plier of MIL-STD-1913 (NATO

STANAG 4694) Picatinny rails fortactical shotguns. A Picatinny railfor the mounting of sighting opticsis included with every Mesa TacticalHigh-tube Telescoping Stock AdapterKit. Additional Picatinny rails are also available for the mounting of optics andaccessories, such as lights and lasers.

Adapter-mount rails are designed to be attached to telescoping stock adapter

accessory mount points, requiring no alterations to the shotgun. These are alsocompatible with Mesa Tactical Barrel Clamps and Magazine clamps (see page 18).

Receiver-mount rails are made to be mounted onto the receivers of Remington,Mossberg, and Benelli shotguns with pre-drilled and tapped mounting holes. Theserails can also be used with weapons that are custom drilled and tapped.

All Mesa Tactical Picatinny rails are machined from 6061-T6 aircraft qualityaluminum, and nished with mil-spec Type III hard anodizing. Mesa TacticalPicatinny rails include all necessary mounting hardware.

RECEIVER MOUNT PICATINNY RAILSMesa Tactical provides two methods for mounting Picatinny rails to tacticalshotguns. For Remington shotguns, we offer the Mesa Tactical Saddle Rail, whichmounts to both side of the receiver and wraps around the top. Top mount railswork with Remington, Mossberg and Benelli shotguns that feature factory tappedrail mounting holes in the top of the receiver.

REMINGTON SADDLE RAILSMesa Tactical Saddle Rails are 6061-T6 aluminum brackets that wrap around thetop of the shotgun receiver. The factory trigger pins are replaced by an internallythreaded steel pin (inthe rear) and pairedChicago screws (upfront), to which both sidesof the saddle rail are securely bolted.

The saddle rail is Type III anodized for a rug-ged surface nish.

Our Saddle Rail is specially contoured to allow operationof a semi-automatic bolt on the right side of the receiver, so it can beinstalled on Remington 1100 and Remington 11-87 semi-auto shotguns aswell as Remington 870 pump shotguns. The rail is notched at the rear to accom-

feature pre-drilled and tapped holes in the tops oftheir receivers.

Top rails for the Remington 870 use the tactical hole patternintroduced on some tactical 870 models in the summer of 2007.

Mossberg rails attach directly to the receivers of late-model (1997 and later)Mossberg pump shotguns with pre-tapped holes.

Standard prole Mossberg rails are for general purpose optics mounting appli-cations. Tall prole rails are only for use with Mesa Tactical High-tube telescoping

stock adapters, as an alternative to adapter mount rails. Receiver mount rails alloweasy access to the Mossberg safety switch.

The hardware included with the Remington and Mossberg rails are for pumpaction shotguns. They can be used with semi-auto versions (Remington 1100and Remington 11-87, or Mossberg 930) by grinding the fasteners down to theappropriate lengths.

LOOP SOLUTIONS

Many operators have requested a more robustsling mounting alternative to our push-buttonsling swivels. Our answer is a line of rugged steelsling loops and hook loops designed to be fastened to the mount points of ourtelescoping stock adapters, or to the receivers of popular shotgun models.

Sling loops are designed to accept USGI standard 1 inch webbing. Hookloops accommodate H&K-style quick-release sling hooks. Our hook loops andsling loops are stamped 11 gauge steel, with a mil-spec manganese phosphate nish.

RECEIVER MOUNT SLING

LOOPS AND HOOK LOOPSOur innovative Sling and Hook Loops providea way to securely attach a tactical sling directlyto the shotgun receiver. They are excellent solu-tions for single-point slings, or for the receiver end attachment of three-point slings.The can be employed as alternatives to Burnsed loops or other attachment methods

that are incompatible with custom stocks.

REMINGTONThe Remington shotguns rear trigger group pinis replaced by a stainless steel standoff with femalethreads, into which the steel sling loop retainer, orbushing, can be tightly screwed. The sling or hook loopis free to rotate about the retainer. A rubber gasket keepsthe sling loop from marring the receiver nish.

Our Magazine Extension HookLoops are available for the Benelli M2and Benelli M4 shotguns, as well asVang Comp magazine extensions forRemington shotguns (before you ask,the Scattergun/Wilson Combat slingloops are permanently installed andcannot be replaced with hook loops).

Magazine Extension Hook Loopsfeature a tough mil-spec manganesephosphate nish. Ambi style sling attachments feature mounts on both sides ofthe receiver. Special retainer clip pliers are required for installation!

REAR HOOK LOOPS FOR

BENELLI TACTICAL STOCKSFactory tactical stocks for most Benelli shot-guns include a stamped steel sling plate in

the center of the stock. We have produced areplacement stamping that features a circularhook loop instead of the sling loop for use withH&K style (dog leash) sling hooks.

Our Rear Hook Loop ts all Benelli plat-forms except the Benelli M4 (in which thesling plate is actually glued in place), and features a tough mil-spec manganesephosphate nish.

POCKET SLING LOOPS AND HOOK LOOPS FOR

URBINO TACTICAL STOCKSThe Urbino Tactical stock system features a molded pocket at the front where the

stock meets the shotgun receiver. A nylon blank is provide to ll this pocket, butit can also accept any of several stamped steel Sling Loops, Hook Loops or PushButton Sling Swivel mounts. The Push Button Sling Swivel mount includes a US-made Push Button Sling Swivel, and all the sling mounts feature a tough mil-specmanganese phosphate nish. Ambi style sling attachments feature mounts on bothsides of the receiver.
