“Go and tell what you see.” The transmission of the Gospel is summed up in that one phrase. The problem is, we often have our senses dulled by the busy waiting world. We have miracles, healings, and great works all around us and what we see is the latest scandal, the latest disaster, the last political “movement”.

In all that noise, we miss God’s powerful hand at work in our lives. The coming of Christ at Christmas is the miracle that begins a multitude of other wonders. Don’t miss the miracle by being distracted by the noise…“Go and tell what you see…”

The Look of Love What does love look like?

It has feet to go to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want.

It has ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of others.

the past year and pray for grace and peace

in the new year.

Young Men’s Into the Breach Conference Dec. 30, 2016, at St. Bernadette Church, 16245 N. 60th St., Scottsdale, beginning at 10am for all high school to college aged Catholic young men. Because we believe that ALL Catholic men need to take their rightful place in their family, school, Church, and community as a man of God. This day will bring authentic speakers whose powerful talks will help enrich, and strengthen your resolve to step “into the breach.” You can expect talks, video, lunch, snacks, and an outdoor activity. We will conclude the day offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass instituted by Jesus Himself. We hope to take last year’s initial conference to a new level, so plan to register early! Info and registration: dphx.org/event/young-mens-into-the-breach-conference-2016.

A Season of Hope Today we can bask in the imagery that the Mass readings offer us. In

particular, Isaiah’s vision of a parched land that blooms with abundant flowers holds a message for each

of us. Too often we are just like that parched land. We can allow ourselves

to become absorbed in the waves of consumerism that grip so

many. We look for fulfillment in the things that money can buy. Unfortunately, this leaves us like parched land, thirsting for something that money can’t

buy. This holy season has much to offer to quench our thirsts. In a

word, this season offers hope. We are told that those who are ransomed by

God will know joy and gladness. For them, sorrow and mourning will be no more. Let us place

our hope in these promises. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
