Message from the Governor Here we are in the middle of summer. I hope everyone is enjoying their vacations and are staying cool. August will be a busy month at your lodge culminating with the Family Fun Day on the 29th. If you have attended any of the previous events you know that it is not to be missed. If this is your first then you are in for a real treat for both children and adults. Remember that we also use this event to showcase our lodge and its members to Prospective members and their families so I encourage everyone to bring a qualified guest so they can take part in the Moose experience. I hope everyone enjoys the dog days of August and are able to stop by the lodge to participate in the many events. From your Sr. Regent: Looking Back: I would like to take this opportunity to thank all co -

workers and lodge members that assisted in pulling together our wonder-

ful float during my absence to the Moose International Conference, includ-

ing Sue Aguero, Arleen McGregor, Cari Lawson, Cheryl Mezes, Joe

Belcher, Dale Beham, Bob Hagerman, and Chris Mosser (Moose).:

Current: The WOTM are currently running a school supply fundrais-

er for 2 elementary and 2 middle schools. You can find a listing of what is

needed on flyers throughout the Lodge. Prince William County children

will start school on August 31st, which is new for this year. We would like

to have all items no later than August 21st so that the book bags can be

stuffed and delivered.

We are as always collecting food items for the local pantries that are al-

ways in need.

Looking Forward: Family Fun Day is right around the corner.

WOTM would like to have our Lodge family assist us in collecting the card-

board rolls from toilet paper and paper towels for a craft project with the

children.

WE APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!

Thank you to

everyone who came

out and helped with

our float! It was a

great success!

Administrator’s Corner

First, I would like to welcome our two new bartenders, Jen Donohue

and Kim Hill – great additions to the Dale City Moose Lodge!

I recently attended the Moose International Convention at the

beautiful Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville. The resort covers

54 acres, and has beautiful gardens with trees, shrubs, flowers, and

even a lake with boat rides inside. There were Moose members from

all over the United States, Canada and Great Britain. Moose

International has cut some staff in order to save money. Like all of

us, the bills have to be paid and we do what we can to make the

money for Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Moose Charites is starting

a new way to donate – allowing Members to make recurring monthly

direct deposits to Moose Charities for as low as $10/month. Moose

International is working on a “New Rewards” program that gives

Members points for being active in the Lodge.

At the District 4 meeting on July 18, 2015, at the Franconia Moose

Lodge, we had elections for the next year. Mike Strumbaugh, our

Territorial Manager surprised us with a visit. He talked a lot about

“getting back to basics.” Terry Treadwell from the Woodbridge

Moose Lodge 583 will be taking over my job as President of District

4. The next District Meeting will be held in our Dale City Lodge at

11am on October 17, 2015. I sure hope you all come and join in this

meeting. There is a trophy for the Lodge with the most members

attending – and I would be proud to have that trophy in the Dale City

Lodge.
