    NINA LYONS - Mother

ul, contemplative and ocused.Nina Lyons uses images o chairs,

vessels, ladders and the emale ormin her painting and sculpture. Herdrawings utilize the richness o earthtones, and when done on her sculp-ture as on paper, they have a won-der ully expressive textural quality. One looks and gets a eeling o si-

a moth comes to a light, temporarilyin a li e made o dreams and ghosts.

People come to me and o tenask what inspires me, and how Icreate such dark worlds and places.

I never really know what to sayexcept that I can spend hours look-ing at the horizon and just clean-ing my mind, my soul. I dont knowwhat Im thinking about or whatI am looking at but somehow andsomeway I can fnd mysel there..in the infnity.

Most people are very nice and kindto me, they comment on my worksand always draw a smile on my

ace when I realize I touched themand that they understand my eel-ings. I dont eel lonely anymore.

Others dont like my art, but that

doesnt get me worried. Theysay its too repetitive, empty andmeaningless. I dont care about it,all I know is that what I do helpsme to grow, its my therapy, some-thing I hold on to as precious. Theyask me to change my art, but tochange that I would to change allo my emotions, eelings and tears.

And apart rom that I have noth-ing.

    Ive done so many things...

I have always been an artist, never entertained the idea o being anything else. I started asan apprentice or a well knowGeorgetown artist while still inhigh school. Jackie Chaulkeytook me under here wing a terI le t home as a teenager andI did production ceramics orher. I also was ortunate enoughto work in an auto paint shopcalled the Spider Web, where Idid custom work on motorcyclesand had one o my tanks in theWorld o Wheels. A Molly Hatch-et cover as I recall.

Soon a ter graduating highschool I took o on a ten year journey across the United Statesin a converted school bus thatwe turned into a motor home. Ispent those years learning othermediums and making a livingdoing lapidary, stained glass,

leather work, candles, lost waxcasting and working in theatreas a special e ects and make upartist.

I intend to do more antasypieces and have been asked todo more Native American de-signs and some landscapes o the local country side. So overthe winter I will concentrate onthose. I plan to go to Renais-sance estivals and see what Ican get into there... maybe lostwax casting in silver again.

Indigo A Childrens Story By: Christine Jordan

    CHAPTER ONE

Introducing IndigoEver elt special? Ever elt di erent? Ever elt like you didnt t in?

Well, thats how Indigo elt. She didnt like it at rst but then, when she began to understand more about li e and more

about her sel , she knew that it was just a wonder ul eeling to be di erent and special.Thats a strange name, children at school would say to her. Her answer was always the same .....

Do you think so? My mother called me that the day I was born. She said I had an indigo coloured aura.

The next question would always be the same ..

    Whats an aura?

Indigo would smile and explain that an aura was a eld o energy surrounding the body.

We all have them. Its just that some people have a gi t to see the energy colors and my Mum has that gi t.

Then the reaction was usually one o two..

Cool. Can I come back to your house a ter school today?

    Or

    Youre weird. Thats just rubbish.

Usually, it was the second one.

Indigo didnt mind the weird reaction. She would smile sweetly and simply walk away, her willowy gure swaying likea reed in the wind. That really bugged them then. She didnt do it on purpose. That was just who she was. Going withthe ow o li e rather than struggling against it. An unusual child in many ways, she had the kind o personality that litup a room instantly. Her positive, happy presence turning negative vibrations to positive. For some, this was a sourceo irritation and jealousy but Indigo managed to rise above other peoples negativity. It really didnt bother her i otherchildren thought she was weird or di erent. Whilst they were desperately trying to be like each other, pestering theirpoor parents to have the latest ashion accessory, the latest trainer, the latest mobile phone or the entire set o what-ever. Indigo just got on with her li e. Dont get me wrong she wasnt a Nerd or a Chav. Anything but. Not one tobe a slave to current school trends she o ten wore unusual accessories not the kind that came rom Claires or Acces-sorize. Again, the question rom her school riends was always the same..

Where did you get that rom?

And again, her answer was always ..

From my Mum, shes an artist. She makes them. This was a special present, it represents my untapped potential.

Indigo would proudly show them the pendant that she always wore. It was made rom platinum and coiled into threespiraling circles. Her mother had told her that the symbol represented her dormant eminine energy and her potentialpsychic powers.

Whether they were rom the cool or weird group they would always take a closerinspection. And so, thats how things were or Indigo.

    Until one day....

Christine Jordan was born in Yorkshire, UK She has one daughter named Fern who is theinspiration or the character o Indigo. Christine saw the light in 2005 ollowing a period o deep darkness in her li e. She was inspired to write this novel while visiting her lightworker

riend in Spain. She is now a ull time writer

    Internet Romances

    By: Mystikka

Excerpted rom Chapter 13 o The Love Crisis Survival Guide.

Most o my clients are straight women, and that group is whom I will be addressing in terms o thegender re erences made throughout the ollowing article. However, i you are a straight male oryou are homosexual, the dynamics explained throughout this book may still apply, because love isuniversal.

In this day and age o a computer-oriented era, online relationships are as convenient as they are se-ductive. Interacting parties tend to eel sa e revealing certain areas o their lives to each other whenthey can hide behind the keyboard and shut o the equipment at any given time. There ore, a bondo intimate communication can be easily ormed between practical strangers in cyberspace.

Dating and networking websites are a breeding ground or antasy. The internet allows men andwomen to put their best oot orward and only showcase qualities that they wish or others to see. Itis impossible to understand how a person behaves in real time esh and blood based on their on-line persona.

Some men may seem very genuine, caring, and attentive during an instant messaging chat session,

but a ter they end the conversation with you they may turn around and say the same things to anumber o di erent women. You dont really know who he is, or sure, beyond what he chooses toshow you.

In atuation colored glasses can cause a person to dream up lot o excuses to keep the excitementalive in a romantic internet connection. Even when we are being selective and guarded, it is nave togive a man that we have only corresponded with online and by telephone the bene t o the doubtwhen it comes to his relationship integrity. Im not suggesting that you assume the worst about him;rather, I am asking you to assume nothing or certain.

When couples spend most o their time communicating online, the keyboard can create a com ortzone that not everyone wants to expand into a real li e arena. To treat your emotional investmentswith care, I would strongly suggest that you limit the amount o online chat time with a perceivedpotential partner to roughly ten minutes a day, three times a week. This sel -disciplinary strategy willhelp to keep you rom becoming too dependent on the chats or your emotional stimulation.

I you already are emotionally dependent on the online chats, limiting them is one o the rst ac-tions you can take that will help you to break that habit. I you are simply looking or a casual riend-
