Corporate Vision
• To become North America’s leading supplier of metakaolin (WhitemudMK) to the cement industry:
• Metakaolin is a highly reactive supplementary cementing material (“SCM”)
4
What is Metakaolin?
Kaolin
• White-coloured clay• kaolinite, dickite,
halloysite, etc.
• Al2Si2O5(OH)4
• Principal uses:
• Filler and coating for paper
• Paint, plastics, ceramics, refractory, rubber
Metakaolin (WhitemudMK)
• Anhydrous, amorphous aluminosilicate
• Becomes chemically reactive• Principal use:
• Highly reactive SCM (Supplementary Cementing Material)
• Recognized as SCM by CSA and ASTM
Heated To650 to 800ºC
• Metakaolin is a pozzolanic SCM created from kaolin clay and used to produce high performance concrete:

Advantages of WhitemudMK in Concrete
• Increases compressive and flexural strength
• Ability to lower costs for concrete producers:
• Optimize mixes to reduce total cementitious inputs
• Reduces permeability, increases durability
• Shortens concrete set time
• Lowers CO2 signature of concrete
• Improves architectural properties
• Lighter colour
• Reduces efflorescence
• Significantly mitigates alkali-silica reaction
