2nd Bullet “Innovate, select & manage best-fit logistics service providers / options” - Examples may include:
We assist customers who are also distributors in the selection of consignment tanks using our assessment protocols
We may suggest customer to construct a pipeline to buy EXW from our contracted storage tank rather than have trans-shipment from nearby terminal or rent their own tank for storage (we need to liaise with terminal to convince them this is better strategy & option for both customers)
We select logistics service providers (e.g. barge / truck companies) for deliveries to customers’ plants or designated terminals for DES or CFR sales

Partnering with You – Examples of Support Project
2 Railcar Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program
3 Product Safe Handling Seminars for Biodiesel / Methanol Fuels Manufacturers
We did:
Regularly hold free methanol safety seminars in all of our business regions for customers, end-users & emergency responders. Our seminars are estimated to reach, on average, over 50 companies and some 500 individuals each year world-wide.
Customers benefited:
By increased awareness and alertness to reduce potential methanol incidents. The knowledge transfer enabled customers, their contractors & downstream users to understand & manage their risks more effectively, thereby improved overall HSE awareness in the industry.
We did:
Developed an award-winning PM Program by partner-ing with customers, workshops & rail companies that targets railcar equipment & operational issues which may lead to “non-accidental releases” (NAR) or spills. Since 2008, ~200 railcars went through the Program.
Customers benefited:
By the significant reduction in the number of cases and volume of NARs in the product loading, transport & unloading operations. This significantly decreased the risks & associated costs of pollution, prosecution & fines, as well as improved company reputation.
We did:
Offered free assessment & knowledge exchange to customers for their owned or contracted methanol handling facilities & practices using our specialized assessment that combines key elements from the CDI-T best standard & Methanex internal requirements.
Customers benefited:
By the identification of risks and opportunities for their methanol handling facilities and practices using our specialized assessment aligned with international best practice. Knowledge transfer enabled customers to manage existing risks & build further growth capacity.
