Completed application forms should be submitted at the Metro Police Offices in the region of residence (No CV’s will be accepted)

Only applications with certified copies of grade 12, valid ID and at least Code B manual transmission driver’s license attached, will be considered.

If a candidate does not comply with the appointment requirement, the application will not be considered

No late applications will be accepted If you do not receive correspondence from our office by 30 September 2011, please consider your

application unsuccessful.

Applicants should take note that they will be required to provide proof of original qualifications during the selection process.

At any time during the selection process may applicants be subjected to a re-assessment of the physical evaluation

DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY SAFETY

Learning opportunities for 500 Trainees in the Tshwane Metro Police Department that renders a 24 hour policing service to the community including mainly three core functions namely- Road Policing, By-Laws Policing and Crime Prevention. The main focus is to ensure a safe and secure road environment and to reduce any causes and opportunities for the occurrences of all criminal activities, traffic and by-law contraventions. Trainees will be employed on a fixed twelve (12) month contract to be trained as a Metro Police Member. Once fully complied/qualified, permanent employment will be considered for Tshwane wide deployment according to an approved shift system.

COSA022/2011 TRAINEE METRO POLICE MEMBERS 500 LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES (12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

Terms of employment: Trainee Metro Police Members will be employed on a 12 months training contract to be trained as a Metro Police Member. Once fully complied /qualified, permanent employment will be considered.

Stipend: R3 000 per month

Appointment requirements:           

Must be a permanent resident of Tshwane areaMust be between 18-35 years oldMust be physically and mentally fit. Must be in possession of a senior certificate (GR12), of which

Selection Criteria: Must be able to undergo a fitness test of 2.4 km runningwithin 11.09 minutes for males and 14.29 minutes for femalesMust complete an obstacle course within 3 minutes formales and 4 minutes for females Provide a medical certificate as proof that a person may do strenuous exercise (you will be requested to provide this certificate if and when you are invited for a physical evaluation)Complete an English proficiency pre-requisite testMust pass a medical examination

Training programme Must be prepared to attend a training course as determined by the CoTMust participate in a vigorous training program (Inter alia physical, fire arm, theoretical and practical)Must be willing to undergo abnormal training including after hours without compensationWill be deployed to any area within the Tshwane Municipal boundaries
