PROJECT: GROWING AS OLDER ADULTS Auser Milano has signed an agreement with the Catholic University of Milano for the realization of the project "Tools for cognitive enhancement and neuropsychology of active aging”. Some members of Auser Milano joined in by participating to the research and sharing with the operators the results of their experience. The initial number of AUSER members was 63, which dropped to 25 at the end of the research. This action represents a precious contribution to some of the mechanisms which regulate longevity and can orient new projects related to the prevention of brain activity of people aged 65+.

USERS: active citizenship in the Metropolitan city
The sample of 1.319 people attending courses out of 2.060 enrolled
indicates that the project is open to and involves all citizens and not
only AUSER members
Notes about the numbers of users of the
University of the Third Age
Initial training :
there is a prominent participation of people with pre-high school education, followed by people with high school education. It is therefore a cultural proposal able to reach a relatively low educational level population.
Gender: women participate more than men.
Users: It is confirmed how this action is able to engage all citizens (even before AUSER members), thus promoting social cohesion in the neighborhoods.
From the experience of the “University of the Third Age” to a “Cultural Network Locally Participated” : in this manner, the project “Cultural Networks For All” was born; it aims to enrich the experience of the University of the Third Age and to promote greater participation of seniors in cultural and social processes.
The project aims to strengthen cultural locations in the periphery to respond to "theoretical" need to bring the culture outside of the urban center and to involve seniors actively by creating community of interest.
SOCIAL COHESION
It is a place where the members
deal with various forms of artistic
production, offer workshops and
provide their compositions by
organizing exhibitions and
support initiatives promoted by
the association.
Today the meeting place is the
Casa delle Associazioni e del
Volontariato in Villa Schaible
