a) 2020 Business Plan (Exhibit #2)1) The 1st goal was in process with a NARPM joint event.
UPDATE: The event scheduled for April 14th, has been postponed. More information to come on a re-schedule date.
2) #2 goal is complete. The property management forum held on January 29 had 102 attendees. Good job!!!
3) A promotional video was created for the Forum in January. It is expected that videos will be made for each forum with any issues. Rental Ordinance Update – No Update
b) Roslind Bailey - Tabled from last month – Finding a better solution to rental property qualifications.
c) Discussion of Rental Market (Stats on DOM and Average LeasePrice) (Exhibit 3 & 4)
d) Report from the Sub-Committee that was formed to investigate usingthe Base Camp application for Communication regarding the RentalRegistration issues. The Sub Committee Members include: AngelaSquitieri, Danny Hardeman, Sheila Lambeth, Rosalind Baily, andMelinda Epps.

The Leasing & Property Management Committee of the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®, Inc., met at the Association offices on January 16, 2020. Chairperson, Melinda Epps, called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
Members present: Judith Abbott, Rosalind Bailey, Jacqueline Bainbridge, Eddie Davis, Roxy Dyer, Jeanne Fisk, Bobby Fletcher, Cameron Foster Kyser, Typhani Gibbs, Rafael Gregorio, Autumn Haley, Danny Hardeman, Carrie Hatfield, Amy Karns, Sheila Lambeth, Romae Mims, Heidi Palazzo, Sandra Robinson, Peter Romanyak, Bill Sabino, James Schuster, Claire Shahzad, Angela Squitieri, and Clark Stephenson.
Staff: Cathy Faulkner (MLS Director) and Lisa Davis (Recording Clerk) and Sherri Godeaux.

Summary of Committee Business
Chairperson, Melinda Epps, welcomed the Committee Members.
The November minutes were reviewed and approved.
The Committee reviewed the 2020 Business Plan.
The Committee requested volunteers to help plan the proposed April 14th NARPM joint event.
The Committee heard a Rental Registration Update.
A Sub Committee was formed to investigate using the Base Camp application for Communication regarding the Rental Registration issues. The Sub Committee Members include: Angela Squitieri, Danny Hardeman, Sheila Lambeth, Rosalind Baily, and Melinda Epps.
The Committee discussed NAR’s new Clear Cooperation Policy and how it may relate to rental properties.
The Committee tabled a discussion regarding finding a better solution to rental property qualifications.
Motions
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to forward a request to the MLS Committee to add to the Residential Lease Data Input Form a required field -- Property Management By > Owner / Listing Agent or Broker/ Other Property Management Company/ To Be Determined .
The Committee discussed the rental market and reviewed statistical report included in Exhibit #3.
Items of Information
The Committee was reminded that the next Forum will be on January 29th “So, You Want to Do Property Management?”
Cathy Falkner informed the Committee about an upcoming keycard/keybox exchange.
The Committee was reminded that NARPM will hold events on February 6-7 on various Property Management issues and that tickets are available.
Having completed the business of the Leasing & Property Management Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 p.m.

MetroTex Association of REALTORS® 2020 Leasing & Property Management Committee Business Plan
Committee Purpose:
The Leasing & Property Management Committee meets to discuss topics that are pertinent to members involved in residential leasing & property management. The committee ensures that forms and contracts that reflect the leasing market are available to real estate professionals. The committee also works to provide education workshops, and support for leasing & property management professionals.
Objective(s) Performance Measure
1. Collaborate with NARPM (National Association of Residential PropertyManagement) to provide a mutually beneficial forum or event.

2. Support and promote the forum “Property Management for Dummies(AKA So, You want to do Property Management….Are you Sure?”)

3. Create promotional and marketing videos to promote the Leasing &Property Management forums.(5A1, 5A3)
-The forum or event will give eachorganization the ability to show theresources available to propertymanagers. Additionally this event orforum will show the importance of theLeasing & Property ManagementCommittee and NARPM as importantinfluencers in the propertymanagement space.
-Complete by end of 2nd quarter.
-This forum is an important tool whichbrings awareness to resourcesavailable through MetroTex to thosein the Leasing & PropertyManagement field.
-(Forums should be expanded to 3 hours instead of 2 hours).
-Complete by end of 1st quarter.
-These videos will bring visibility tothe Leasing & Property ManagementCommittee and enhance Committeerecruitment efforts.
-Record each video at least 3 monthsprior to the scheduled forum.
Fiscal Note: The committee would like to hold a vendor fair in conjunction with NARPM which means the use of an outside venue and possibly food costs. $3,000 Possible speaker fee for one of the 2020 Forum Speakers: $1,500
