Auto Management System
Benefits for the Utility
• Eliminates reading cost $
• Eliminates the billing cost $
• Eliminates the connection and disconnection cost $
• The Utility doesn't lose the contact with the user, because the meter data updates each time that the user recharges the smart card
• Detects tampering, using the management system based on When ? and How much? the user buy energy and consumes it.
•The meter is installed in the same base of the actual meters, it doesn't require any preparation or to add a new communication system cost
•The management system can transfer the meter’s data to the billing system of the utility, if they require it.

Pre-Payment.
1.-The meter turns on the alarm led to remind the credit is running out
2.-The user have to go to the POS to purchase energy.
3.- The POS sends information to Central Servers at Utility so they can authorize the sell of energy
4.- The user come back with new credit charged in his smartcard and discharges the purchase of energy in the meter
Both operations modes (Postpayment and Prepayment) can be configured by the smartcard

Post-Payment
1.-At the end of each calendar month, the user have to put his smartcard on the meter in order to get the consume of the last month.
2.-The user have to go to the near POS to know the payment amount for the last month of the electricity service
3.-The user now have two options: he can pay and continue with the electricity service, or he can wait for the programmed limit date of payment and the meter cuts the electricity service
4.-After the user makes the payment at the POS, the user have to put the smartcard on his meter and wait for the meter to confirm the payment and it should not cut the electricity supply
Auto Management Metering System
Patent Register in Mexico and in the Rest of World. India Patent Pending
Main Features
•Communication between meter and CONTACTLESS smartca rd
The auto management Electricity System of IUSA is a two way system when the smartcard is on the meter to:
1.- Discharge the energy credit (Pre-Payment) or to confirm the pay of energy (Post-Payment)
2.- Meter can transmits its information to the smartcard in order that the user can take it with him to the POS to buy energy without cost for the utility
•Only one smartcard for each meter (replaced if you lost) .
The user can't discharge energy in other meter, each smartcard has only one identity to communicate with only one meter.
•Unload debit steps configurable .
In order to manage it in a better way, the energy consumption and user’s purchases, it is possible to configured the steps in which ones the meter discounts or unloads the purchase debit from the smart card.
Calendar Meter
Each meter has a calendar inside to record recharges dates, cuts of energy services, monthly KWh, maximum demands timetables, energy balance, etc.
•Optic Port.
Optic port, used for, meter reading, connection and disconnections, date and time configuration, and test mode of meter.
•Day light saving time
Capacity to change/return automatically to summer time

•Recover the last sale.
If the user lost his smartcard, can recover the last sale at the POS, in this case the user never loses his money.
•Connect and disconnect the energy supply with the s ame smartcard
Energy supply manual: The user can connect and disconnect any time he wants.
Energy supply automatic: The meter will connect the energy supply when its has credit and the meter will disconnect the energy supply when its has not more credit.
•Warnings for energy recharges .
The system can configure a warning level for each user so the led turns on in the meter, when the user needs to recharge more energy to his meter.
• Display Screens
The screens on line are: current, voltage, power factor, frequency, disconnections and inversions of the meter. The utility can select all or some of them to show on the display.
•Test mode.
The meter can be configured in test mode to validate its functions and calibration.
•SMS consult.
The user can consult the amount of money equivalent of the energy that the meter register using a SMS service.
•All parameters above mentioned are independent for each final user and they can be configured using the smart card / changed by software at POS

•CFE installed several deployments and pilot trying to learn and select the best technologies related to AMR, AMI, smart meters and smart grids.
•After those AMR pilots that technical results was successful but not the economical because the cost of equipment and operation is to high to make a big deployment.
•We share with you the following comparative chart.
Advantages of the Auto-management System Vs AMR
-Low cost product $
- It doesn't require a communication network.
- It doesn’t require to cover cost to maintain the communication network.
- There is no cost for installation of the network.
- It doesn't require the emission and delivery of Invoice.
- The time of collection is reduced since the user doesn’t have to wait for
the invoice to pay it.
- The culture of the energy saving is generated due that the user is near
to the meter and this allows him to control the consumptions,
- The user can restrict the use of energy when being away from his house
by the function of manual operation through the card.
- The Electrical company can restrict the service if the user exceeds the
contracted demand but the same user it can restore it by the card
without calling to the electrical company.
- The responsibility of the cuts is of the user.
- The user could know the amount to pay without visiting the point of
sale, this can be by SMS, Internet.
- Payments can make by Internet and credit card

Disadvantages of the Auto-Management System Vs AMR
- Reading information among 1 month.
- No remote cuts or service.
- Payments cannot be domiciled.
- Detection of tamper use is after 1 month
