Shelving mezzanines

With freestanding shelving mezza-nines you can double your storagespace. The design options arevirtually unlimited. Depending onyour requirements, different uprightpatterns, support profiles andfloor coverings.

Naturally a multi-tier design isalso possible.

Storage platforms

With platforms, either aisles arebuilt between the shelving rows orcomplete platforms are built ontothe shelving units themselves.

This method is mostly used,where order picking is priority andconveying installations are needed.

The advantage lies in the factthat all the different kinds ofracking systems, like modularshelving systems, live storageor pallet racking can be usedas a supporting system.

� Floor decking for every applicationmade from mesh panel, chipboard or multiple-glued beechwood, with or without anti-slip coating. The underside ofthe surface is either natural or white coated

� Fire protectionis designed to conform with Local Authority regulations

� Ventilation for racking platformsis available in different forms, depending on the specificapplication

� Safety with platformsstarts at the bottom of the staircase and ends with therailing at the pallet loading areas

For an optimal selection of the platform supports altogether three variants are available.

� Square tube uprightswith welded foot plates 200 x 200 mm, fixed to the floor

� Support profilesmade from high-strength cold formed quality steel,with perforation for individual assembly

� Deckingmade from high-pressed special chip wood 38 mmstrong, V20 E1. Tongue and groove joint. Finish:natural on both sides

� Bending of the main girdermaximum l/300

� Calculations according tocurrent regulationsfrom DIN, FEM and BGR 234 (formerly ZH 1/428)

� Rails with elbow pipeand end stop

Mesh grating, multiplex boardsand PVC covering

We supply special solutions for specialrequirements. Mesh gratings are necessary either for fireprotection reasons or for ventilation.Multiplex boards are the optimal solutionfor extremely high loads and long life span. For higher comfort in a constant workplaceare conductive coverings or floor coveringwith PVC dimples ideal.

Decking made from chipboard

Platform surface covering made fromchipboards are applicable for a large rangeof application in different versions. Surfacesin natural finish, oil-hardened or with anti-slip coating. Normal or high-pressed, for fire protectionclass B1 or B2, with tongue and groovejoint or as a board.Chipboard thickness 30 or 38 mm.

� Handrailing and kickboardare designed to be extremely sturdy and are alwaysequipped with handrailing, guardrail and lower sheetsteel mantle

Standard stairs for multi-tier shelving installations

� Standard stairs for multi-tier shelvinginstallations permit a safe and easy passage and are extremelysturdy. The requirements according to DIN 24 530(stairs made from steel) are to be considered. All stepsare limited by the side panels of the stair case andbolted into them. Depending upon platform height,additional stairway landings are necessary. The twodifferent stair models are being used according toindividual requirements and the availability of space

� Steps made from checker plate or mesh panel possible

� Handrailingcontinuous from top to bottom on stairs

� Rail solutions down to the last detail – including the transitionfrom stairway rail to platform rail

Lighting installations for warehouses

Guidelines of BGR 234 (formerlyZH 1/428): “All storage installationsare to be equipped with sufficientand glare-free lighting”.

For this reason SSI SCHAEFERcreated a special lighting program,which fulfills the nominal densitiesof glare-free light within all areasof racking platform installations,demanded in the working placeguidelines.

SSI SCHAEFER lights are integratedinto the support structure of the

platform level and are protectedthereby to a large extent againstimpact damage.

Assembly transverse to the aisledirection for unimpaired area in frontof the highest shelf, with free viewof the stored material for the staff.

All support profiles in the middleaisles are prepared for theadmission of commercial cableconduit PG 9/1 or other installationmaterial. SSI SCHAEFER uses onlycompensated lighting.

� Integration into the support structureprotects to a large extent against impact damage
