Support steel for Union Chandler will be removed on Saturday July 29th & Saturday Aug 5th if needed. A police detail is anticipated. During this work a portion of Main Street will be closed to traffic. STREET WORK
State Street Saturday Aug 12th, the city will be holding its Jazz & Roots Festival. On this day no work will occur on State or Main Street.
Main Street
Reflectorized drums will intermittently be placed in the south bound lane to shift traffic from 6am-6pm Monday through Friday to allow for the unloading of certain materials onto the construction site. The barrels will be moved out of the road at the end of each day to allow parking during non-working hours. Two way traffic will be maintained at all times and two police details will be present. This traffic shift is currently underway.
Support steel for the Union Chandler building will be removed on Saturday July 29th and, if needed, Aug 5th. A police detail is anticipated. During this work Main Street will be closed from State Street to Union Street. Vehicles will utilize Maple Street as a detour route. Access to local businesses will be maintained and signage will be in place to notify/direct patrons/drivers. Anticipated work hours are 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
Beginning on Monday July 24th, utility work will take place in the sidewalk and parking stalls on the east side of Main Street from Red Rose to Union Street. The sidewalk will be closed to pedestrian traffic at this time. This work is anticipated to take all week. The work area will be protected with barriers, construction barrels, and fencing at all times.
Saturday Aug 12th the city will be holding its Jazz & Roots Festival. On this day no work will occur on State or Main Street.
Union Street
Utility work is underway and will continue throughout the summer at the intersections of Union, Howard West, and Bliss Street with East Columbus Ave. During this work, Union Street will be closed to through traffic from Main Street to East Columbus Avenue. Access to Pride Gas Station, the Colvest Building, and 55 State Street will be maintained at all times. Signage will be in place to direct patrons to business’ on Main Street via State Street and to provide updates and direction for drivers in the area.
East Columbus Ave will be open to through traffic throughout the project. At times, lanes will need to be reduced to accommodate utility crossings at the intersections. Police details will be present throughout the summer to help traffic flow as efficiently as possible.
East Columbus Avenue Work is underway to repair/replace portions of water main piping. A police detail is anticipated.
Bliss Street Work is underway to repair/replace portions of water main piping. A police detail is anticipated.
Howard Street Turn Around No work anticipated
