MHG news 25Altogether 64 students of MHG participated in the
national e-dictation of Vikerraadio. In the national Mother Tongue
Olympiad, three of our students from grades 10-11 reached the top
10. Ronald Judin (12a, teacher Jana Kübar) won 2nd place; Liis
Siigur (11DP, teacher Reet Volmer) shared 4th-6th place and Anabel
Zopp (11b, teacher Jana Kübar) became 9th. Anabel also received 3rd
place with her research project about the students' awareness of
plagiarism. Karolin Ruumet (8a, teacher Auli Auväärt) became 8th
among grades 7-8.

Oliver Mõttus (12a) won 2nd place on the national round of the
Civics Olympiad. Supervisor was Piret Tänav. Annika Alavere (12DP)
received a high 3rd place in the national round of the German
Olympiad. Great performance in the same competition also from
Maarja Kask (11b, teacher Heikki Veinimäe) and Sander Metsis (10a,
teacher Maigi Varusk). Ronald Judin (12a) is invited to the final
round of the Philosophy Olympiad based on his submitted essay in
the preliminary round. This year, Ronald has also been invited to
the final rounds of the following olympiads: Mother Tongue,
Physics, Geography, Chemistry, Entrepreneurship, Mathematics and
Civics. Great results from the second round of the ICT Olympiad
Kobras. Maria Alas (7a) shared 1st-5th place in the benjamin age
group. Great results also from Jesse Unt (6a), Erik Meriloo (6a),
Rafael Kõivupuu (6a), Roland Saar (6a), Kaur Kurrikoff (6a). There
were altogether 1011 participants. In the junior age group, there
were altogether 345 participants among which also our own
Triin-Elis Kuum (9b). The number of participants in the senior age
group was 185 and among those also Karel Keis (11a) and Markus
Lemberg (11a) from MHG. Karen Dunaway (10c) participated in the
first round of the competition. An online dictation in French took
place on March 19. In this competition, Mia Sootla (11a) shared the
2nd-4th place on B2 level. The supervisor was Helen Rägo. Our
senior students Karl Johannes Visnapuu and Karl Markus Urbmets
started their own doughnut company Desidonuts. Visit them here

MHG students from grade 2 received high places on the national
contest of the Music Association: 2nd place to Janno Lani (Tartu II
Music School) and 3rd place to Sten Lani (Tartu II Music School).
