Michael Coleman, LLC has laid claim to a position in the creative world that
accesses the capabilities of an agency while eliminating it’s overhead. We
retain the scrappy passion of a freelancer but ensure a consistent product
and stable timeline. We’re committed to our clients and have the loyalty
of a dedicated employee, but we provide additional capabilities and
extended bandwidth.
Our mission is to understand each client’s brand and business need in order
to develop the strategy and resources to achieve them through highly
productive relationships that eliminate superfluous costs and processes.
WHO WE ARE
For Michael Coleman, operating a close-knit
and ambitious creative team was the natural
progression of a freelance career that generated
marketing experience in real estate, hospitality,
golf, retail, and more.
Working as a freelance designer, Michael
developed visual identity for new brands,
helped to establish and execute long term
marketing strategy, managed print and digital
ad campaigns, and produced multitudes of
marketing collateral and sales tools.
Established in 2010, Michael Coleman LLC has
proven to be a team of designers and artists
with a passionate and entrepreneurial work style
that perpetually expands the company’s growth
in size, capability, and character.

A streamlined, locally-customizable process implementing global initiatives at property level
ST. REGIS HOTELS
St. Regis Hotels introduced a new brand visual identity in 2016
and requested assistance in translating that aesthetic to their
catering, events, and weddings sales tools. After coordinating
a brand standard design with the corporate creative team, we
developed a portal for properties to schedule creative services
and upload assets.
HOW WE WORK
STAGE 1: LARGE PROJECT
• We worked with the corporate marketing team to establish a brand
standard design and workflow process to roll the design out to all
fifty-five properties worldwide.
STAGE 2: SMALL PROJECTS
• Via an online portal, each hotel scheduled creative services and
uploaded their assets, which were routed to a designer in our office
who worked with the property to complete their menu design.

Custom created by a team of leading St. Regis culinarians from around the globe, The Art of Catering brings refined dining with an artisanal approach to gatherings both large and small.
With the debut of the Astor Menu, traditional catering has evolved to a fine-dining experience, as guests work with the chef to create an entirely personalized menu without restriction. Launching globally at the end of this year, The Art of Catering and Astor Menu are distinctly St. Regis, exemplifying food artistry at its finest for a memorable culinary experience beyond expectation.

Sabering
The art of sabrage has an illustrious history that stretches back more than 200 years. The practice is most commonly associated with Napoleon Bonaparte, who famously opened champagne with his saber, savoring it in victory and defeat. Now carried out flawlessly at many St. Regis hotels and resorts around the world, the evening ritual continues in lieu of the more traditional uncorking.

The Bloody Mary
In 1934, Fernand Petiot, the bartender at The St. Regis New York’s King Cole Bar, perfected the recipe for a vodka-and-tomato juice cocktail he dubbed the Bloody Mary. Deemed too racy a name for the hotel’s clientele, it was rechristened the Red Snapper. While the latter moniker may not have stood the test of time, Fernand’s spicy concoction certainly has. Today, the Bloody Mary remains the signature cocktail of the St. Regis brand, with each hotel crafting its own interpretation of the libation. Midnight Suppers
Caroline Astor, mother of the St. Regis founder and doyenne of Gilded Age high society, entertained in a style that was unprecedented both in its opulence and its exclusivity. Her celebrated galas were often followed by intimate midnight supper experiences, which only a select few were invited to attend. These more relaxed affairs, distinguished by the finest wine and cuisine, were coveted after-parties where guests could unwind from the formality of the preceding event. Traditionally commencing at midnight, they now conclude at this hour.

When CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa in Anguilla resumed
sales and construction on a collection of single family and
townhouse homes, we stepped in to help create a distinct
identity that paired with the existing resort brand. Once an
identity was established, we created collateral including a
print brochure, website, print advertising, email campaigns,
and large format signage.

• The client’s scope of work included a comprehensive project list
and a six month timeline, so we established a six month retainer
that spread out the total per-project cost into even monthly
fees.

HILTONS OF CHICAGO
Hiltons of Chicago is the central sales and marketing office
for multiple properties, including the historic Palmer House
Hilton, The Drake Hotel, and Hilton Chicago. By replacing
their outgoing staff designer with retainer services they
increased their design bandwidth, decreased cost, and
accessed a broader skill set.
HOW WE WORK
RETAINER
• To fill the shoes of a full time designer, we established a 120
hour retainer per month. The workload is distributed between
two account representatives -- one who focuses on food and
beverage creative, another who focuses on general creative.
Other designers interact with this client when their expertise will
expedite a project, for instance when we produce web, email,
or small branding projects.
