There is no exact definition, because the term is used to describe a wide range of chemical products that are ever-changing. Unlike drugs such as marijuana and cocaine, these drugs do not come from plants; they are manmade.

Designer drugs are synthesized chemical analogues of known, dangerous drugs Our Biggest Trends are • Synthetic Marijuana • Vaporized Substances
• (Blue Blossom, BHO etc.) • Synthetic Cathinones and
Phenethylamines • (Bath Salts, Molly, Flakka,
N-Bomb) All are classified as designer drugs and connected in many ways.
The World Drugs Report said that as of 1/1/14 there were 348 known New
Psychoactive Substances (NPS) up from 251 in 2012 and they now almost double the number of internationally controlled drugs, 234. The U.S. has identified 223 NPS since 2012, the largest number worldwide, and more than twice as many as the European Union.

Hash oil (also known as hashish oil, BHO, wax, sativa bho, shatter, crumble, indica bho, honey oil, dabs, or budder) is a form of cannabis. It is a resinous matrix of cannabinoids obtained from the Cannabis plant by solvent extraction, formed into a hardened or viscous mass.

Also known as amber, honey, wax, ear wax and by its initials BHO, butane hash oil is a highly concentrated form of the active ingredient in marijuana (tetrahydrocannabinol or THC). Use of BHO is known as "dabbing," because of the way the drug is ingested: Users place a small dab of the substance on a hot, metal surface, then inhale the resulting puff of smoke
"It's a very strong, concentrated form of marijuana. It's also just very concealable: you can hide it, you can use it in the street, and it's kind of unknown as it stands right now."

Smoking Alcohol is seen as a low calorie alternative to drinking alcohol.
Inhaling alcohol provides all of the flavor and intoxication of chugging a mixed drink with none of the sugars and calories.
There are many ways people are vaporizing alcohol in order for it to be smoked; Some pour liquor over dry ice and "smoke" the vapors, others pressurize the alcohol in a bottle and inhale the vapors, and lastly others heat alcohol over moderate temperatures to create steam. Each method can be compared to freebasing which is common with crack cocaine and heroin.

Phenethylamine have a class of compound called cathinones. Cathinones are
naturally occurring compounds that include stimulants, psychedelics, and
entactogens. Bath Salts, Ecstasy, Molly, MDMA, etc. are synthetic versions of these
cathinones. Because the natural versions have a wide variety of impact on the body,
so do the synthetic forms.

41
The term “Molly" refers to MDMA in powder or crystalline form, usually implying a higher level of purity
Molly users claim that the drug gives them intense feelings of pleasure, but that the high is followed by a serious crash that includes levels of depression that some have called “paralyzing.”
Users inhale, eat in pill form or parachuted -- folded into a tissue and swallowed
Two of the biggest risks while taking molly are dehydration and,
interestingly, over-hydrating to the point where your brain swells and can be fatal.
6/9/2015
42
The DEA says only 13% of the Molly seized in New York state the last four
years actually contained any MDMA, and even then it often was mixed with
other drugs. The drugs frequently found in Molly are Methylone, MDPV, 4-
MEC, 4-MMC, Pentedrone and MePP.
Hospital emergency department visits related to Molly increased 128
percent between 2005 and 2011 (from 4,460 visits in 2005 to 10,176 visits
in 2011) for visits among patients younger than 21 years old, according to a
new report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA).
This poster is common at concerts and large parties. The poster reads, MISSING, have you seen Molly? She makes you want to dance… I’ve been looking everywhere and I can’t seem to find her. Do you know where I can find Molly?
The poster then contain a QR Code which when scan by any smart phone produces contact information to a dealer at the event.

Known as Doctor Death
PMMA has been found in tablets and capsules of the MDMA sold as "ecstasy". A number of deaths have been attributed to tablets sold as ecstasy that contained other substances, such as PMMA's structural analog, PMA.
Death can occur when an ecstasy user believes they are consuming recreational doses of MDMA, when they are in fact consuming a lethal dose of another substance with similar effects.
PMA is of particular concern because it not only causes a release of serotonin but also acts as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI); if it is used in combination with MDMA or another MDMA-like substance, serotonin syndrome can result.

“Gravel” or "Flakka" all contain alpha-PVP also known as the Insanity Drug Alpha-PVP is chemically similar to other synthetic cathinone drugs popularly
called "bath salts," and takes the form of a white or pink, foul-smelling crystal that can be eaten, snorted, injected, or vaporized in an e-cigarette or similar device.
Vaporizing, which sends the drug very quickly into the bloodstream, may make it particularly easy to overdose. Like other drugs of this type, alpha-PVP can cause a condition called "excited delirium" that involves hyper-stimulation, paranoia, and hallucinations that can lead to violent aggression and self-injury.
The drug has been linked to deaths by suicide as well as heart attack. It can also dangerously raise body temperature and lead to kidney damage or kidney failure.

Gravel has been popping up along the east coast. The active ingredient, alpha-
PVP, substituted cathinones
The main side effect of Alpha-PVP is extreme paranoia that can lead to deadly decisions. Research shows that most deaths related to Alpha-PVP are related to behaviors as a side-effect of the drug.
Route of Administration: insufflation, oral, vaporization, smoking, injection
Physical appearance similar to crack cocaine or crystal methamphetamine. Users report increased heart rate, anxiety, sweating, stimulant psychosis.

45
Flakka, also known as alpha -PVP, was banned and labeled a Schedule 1 drug by the U.S DEA in early 2014
Use of the drug have been reported primarily in Florida, Texas, and Ohio, but the drug is likely making its way into many other cities.
Flakka, which comes in crystalline rock form, can be swallowed, snorted, injected, or used in an e- cigarette and vaped. The duration of the effects of the drug can last as few as 3-4 hours, but can also linger for several days. The drug is highly addictive, both from a physical as well as a psychological perspective.
Flakka is produced from a compound known as alpha-PVP, synthetically derived and made from an amphetamine-like derivative of the drug, cathinone.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/robertglatter/2015/04/04/flakka-the-new-drug-you-need-to-know-about/
The physiologic effects of Flakka trigger severe anxiety, paranoia, and delusions, leading to a psychotic state, characterized by a surge of violence associated increased strength and loss of awareness of reality and surroundings
(DEA), Flakka cases are significantly increasing from no reported cases in 2010 to 85 cases in 2012, and now greater than 670 in 2014. No statistics are available on reported cases in 2015 thus far.
But since underground drug suppliers realize that bans by the DEA are an ongoing practice, they always seem to be one step ahead, making new versions of previously banned drugs. And such will likely be the case with Flakka.

“N-bomb” refers to any of three closely related synthetic hallucinogens (25I-NBOMe, 25C-NBOMe, and 25B-NBOMe) that are being sold as legal substitutes for LSD or mescaline.
Also called “legal acid,” “smiles,” or “25I,” they are generally found as powders, liquids, soaked into blotter paper (like LSD) or laced on something edible.
Extremely small amounts can cause seizures, heart attack or arrested breathing, and death.

47
Bromo-Dragonfly is a synthetic psychedelic. Dragonfly is part of a new class of benzodifurans, related to Phenethylamine, but distinct in structure. Found on blotters as well as in powder form.
300 times the potency of mescaline and peyote, or 1/5 the potency of LSD. Is compared to peyote or mesculine
It has a much longer duration of action than LSD and can last for up to 2–3 days following a single large dose, with a slow onset of action that can take up to 6 hours before the effects are felt

Phenazepam is used in the treatment of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, alcohol withdrawal syndrome and insomnia. It can be used as a premedication before surgery as it augments the effects of anesthetics and reduces anxiety.
Recently, phenazepam has gained popularity as a recreational drug; misuse has been reported in the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, and the United States.

Derived from cocaine, oxi (short for oxidado or “rust” or paste) may also contain kerosene or gasoline as well as acetone, battery acid or assorted other chemicals.
The drug is smoked and has a nearly instantaneous effect.
The pleasure of this drug is at this very moment. When you inhale, it's the first five seconds that is the ecstasy of this drug, when it comes to your brain. You feel your ear making a buzzing sound. You forget everything.
The effects of oxi on users are devastating. Users take on a yellowish skin color, lose weight very quickly and develop liver problems. They start to look like emaciated living corpses in just a few weeks time. The drug causes stomach aches, vomiting and constant diarrhea, but perhaps the most alarming fact is that most users die within a year.
Use of oxi has exploded in Brazil since 2005. Oxi has already gripped most of Brazil's seven northern states that make up the Amazon region, and in recent months it has been seen in large population centers in the south of Brazil.

What exactly is “sizzurp”?
Also known by the slang terms “purple drank,” “water” and “lean,” sizzurp, is a cough syrup-laced concoction of many names and has been gaining popularity in hip-hop culture.
Drinking prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and promethazine mixed with
soda.
Codeine is an opioid that can produce relaxation and euphoria when consumed in sufficient quantities. Promethazine is an antihistamine that also acts as a sedative. Users may also flavor the mixture with the addition of hard candies.
Codeine and other opioids present a high risk of fatal overdose due to their effect of depressing the central nervous system, which can slow or stop the heart and lungs. Mixing with alcohol greatly increases this risk.

What's worse than going to a concert, sporting event, etc. and having to pay $10, $15, $20 for a mixed drink with tax and tip. Are you kidding me?! Take Palcohol into the venue and enjoy a mixed drink for a fraction of the cost.
Denied but now approved by FDA
Let's talk about the elephant in the room….snorting Palcohol. Yes, you can snort it. And you'll get drunk almost instantly because the alcohol will be absorbed so quickly in your nose. Good idea? No. It will mess you up. Use Palcohol responsibly.
