Symptoms can mimic a common cold, a hangover, food poisoning, depression
or fever). If the family’s (or pet’s) symptoms decrease when away from the house,
seek medical treatment or get a carboxyhemoglobin level blood test for CO poisoning.
izziness, ringing in the ears
lurred vision, burning eyes
ersistent throbbing headaches
Tightness across the forehead
ale skin
Nausea and vomiting
Confusion, disorientation, loss of muscle control
Fainting, unconsciousness
leepiness, never feeling rested
throbbing of the heart, tightening of the chest
ortness of breath
Chest pain (angina) when exercising
Intoxicated appearance
dden death
Carbon Monoxide Symptomsis a colorless, odorless, tasteless, highly toxic gas that is undetectable to the human senses. It is a by-product of combustion present whenever fuel is burned from:
rosene coal
ropane petroleum (LP) gas
Because the gas is odorless, victims may become disoriented before realizing any danger, unable to call for help or exit the premise. CO displaces oxy-gen in the blood, causing the brain, heart and other tissues, muscles and organs to become oxygen starved, a condition called carboxyhemoglobin or COHb.
Energy-ef homes may be more susceptible to CO poisoning because they do not allow enough air in the home to dissipate normal CO output.
75040688
CO poisoning is especially toxic to in-fants and children; mother and unborn child during pregnancy; the elderly; smokers; people with anemia, coronary, or respiratory problems; and people with immune system diseases.
For symptoms of CO poisoning, call 9-1-1, your local fi re department, or the local gas company’s emergency number. Seek medical attention.
If alarm sounds and there are nosymptoms, call a qualifi edappliance technician.
If a CO leak is suspected or yousmell gas, call the local gascompany immediately.Professionals can identify andeliminate the CO problem.

GENERAL NOTICE TO CONTROL NOXIOUS WEEDSThe Kansas Noxious Weed Law K.S.A. 2-1314 et seq requires all persons who own or supervise land in Kansas to control and eradicate all weeds declared noxious by legislative action. The weeds declared noxious are: fi eld bindweed, musk thistle, Jonsongrass, bur ragweed, Canada thistle, sericea lespadeza, leafy spurge, hoary cress, quackgrass, Russian knaqp-weed, kudza and pignut.
County Commissioners of Linn County. Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Kansas Noxious Weed Law to every person who owns or supervises land in County that noxious weeds growing or found on such land shall be controlled and eradicated. Control is defi ned as preventing the production of viable seed and the vegetative spread of the plant.
Failure to observe this notice may result in the County:
1. Serving a legal notice requiring control of the noxious weeds within a minimum of fi ve days. Failure to control the noxious weeds within the time period allowed may result in the county testing the noxious weeds at the landowners expense and placing a lien on the property if the bill is not paid within 30 days or,2. The public is also hereby notifi ed that it is a violation of the Kansas Noxious Weed Law to barter, sell or give away infested nursery stock or livestock feed unless the feed is fed on the farm where grown or sold to a com-mercial processor that will destroy the viability of the noxious weed seed. Custom harvesting machines must be labeled with a label provided by the Kansas Department of Agriculture and must be free of all weed seed and litter when entering the State and when leaving a fi eld infested with nox-ious weeds.
