SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES
1. Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Full‐Time and Part‐Time)
For admission into the MBA degree programme, only Candidates with Honours Degree, H.N.D. (Minimum of Upper Credit) or Professional Qualification recognized by Senate (for the time being A.C.A., A.C.I.A., A.C.I.S. and A.C.I.B) are eligible to apply for admission. For M.B.A. (Executive), Candidates should have a minimum of three (3) years postgraduate working experience in managerial position.
2. Master of Banking and Finance (M.B.F.)
Admission into Master of Banking and Finance degree programme is open only to holders of Bachelor's degrees with honours in Finance and related disciplines with a minimum of two (2) years post‐qualification experience. In addition to the above, basic courses in Corporate Finance are required.
3. Masters of Science (M.Sc.) Finance (Full‐Time and Part‐Time)
Admission is open to only holders of Bachelor's degree with honours in Banking and Finance and closely related disciplines i.e. Business Administration, Accounting, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Management, Industrial Relations and Personnel Management and Economics. In addition to the above, basic courses in Corporate Finance are required.
4. Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management
A Candidate must be a graduate of the University of Lagos or any other recognized University, who holds an honours degree in the following disciplines: Psychology, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Business Administration and Industrial Relations and Personnel Management.
5. Master of Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR) (Part‐Time)
A candidate must be a graduate from the University of Lagos or any other recognized University, holding an honours degree in any discipline and must also have a minimum of two years postgraduate working experience, excluding NYSC programme year.
6. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Marketing (Full‐Time and Part‐Time)
Only graduates of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. Other Social Science ‐ related courses such as Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Mass Communication, Estate Management including holders of MBA degree with honours are eligible to apply. In addition to the above, basic courses in Marketing are required as additional requirement for M.Sc Marketing only.
7. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Management (Full‐Time and Part‐Time)

11. Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Actuarial Science
Bachelor's degree with honours in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Operation Research or any other related subjects with adequate contents in Mathematics.
12. Master of Science (M. Sc.) Accounting
(i) For the M.Sc. Accounting programme, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree with honours in Accounting
from this or any approved University,
(ii) Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Accounting, of this or any other approved University.
13. Master of Public Administration (MPA) (Part‐Time)
The 4 Semesters MPA (Part‐Time) Programme is open to applicants who already possess a Bachelor's degree with honours of this University or other approved Universities. All candidates will be required to go through the whole selection process.
14. Master of Public and International Affairs (MPIA) (Part‐Time)
The Master of Public and International Affairs (Part‐Time) programme is open to all University graduate of all discipline with good grade and is for two academic session. HND Graduate is not qualified for the MPIA programme and is a part time programme.
15. Master of Science (M. Sc.) Political Science (Part‐Time)
The programme is open only to holders of Bachelors’ degrees (1st Class, Second Class Upper and Second Class Lower) with honours in Political Science, Sociology, Mass Communication, Psychology, Economics, Law, History and Public Administration from this or any other approved universities. The programme is for the period of three‐semesters. All candidates will be required to undergo a selection process.
16. Master of Science (M. Sc.) Sociology (Full‐Time and Part‐Time)
Only holders of B.Sc. or equivalent degree with honours in Sociology, Anthropology, Demography, Social Work or any combination of these or other related disciplines in the Humanities, Administration and Social Sciences are eligible to apply.
17. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Mass Communication (Full ‐Time and Part ‐Time)
Only holders of a degree with honours in Mass Communication or other honours degrees with a P.G.D. in Mass Communication (with a CGPA of at least 3.0) are eligible to apply.
18. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Economics (Full‐Time: One Year and Part‐Time: Two Academic Years)
Candidates are required to possess degree in Economics not below Second Class Lower Division or a closely related discipline (as judged by core courses and course duration from transcripts) or its equivalent from this University or other
recognized Universities. Candidates with first degrees with honours in other disciplines, or third class in Economics, are required to possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics of the University of Lagos, or MBA or a second degree (Masters level) in a discipline closely related to Economics, from a recognized University. In addition, all candidates will be required to fulfill a specified standard in an entrance examination.
19. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Psychology
Holders of Bachelor's degree with honours in Psychology are eligible to apply. Holders of honours degree in other disciplines will be considered for admission as occasional students in the first year.
20 Master of Managerial Psychology (MMP) (Part‐Time)
. (i) Candidate must hold B.Sc. honours degree in Psychology or any other Social Science including Business Administration, from a recognized University.
(ii) Candidates with honours degree from reputable Universities in disciplines other than those mentioned above are also qualified to apply.
(iii) All applicants will be required to show evidence of cognate experience of not less than three years in a managerial position.
(iv) Satisfy other special requirements such as qualifying examination. In respect of (iv) above, all candidate seeking admission at the Master’s level must sit for a qualifying examination in the respective programme they apply for. In addition they must score at least 40% in the qualifying examination for them to be considered for admission.
(v) Satisfy all other requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
21 Master of Science (M.Sc.) Geography
Admission is open to holders of Bachelor's degree with honours in Geography or in related fields such as Sciences, Civil Engineering, Social Sciences, Psychology and Mathematics of the University of Lagos or other approved Universities.
22. Master of Geographic Information System (MGIS) (Full‐Time and Part‐Time)
Only B.Sc Degree holders with honours in Geography, Surveying or any field of the Environmental, Social, Pure, Applied and Medical Sciences, Engineering and Business Administration; and those that completed the PGD Programmes in GIS with up to CGPA of 2.50 will be considered for admission.
23 Master in Transportation Management and Planning (Part‐Time)
Open to either holders of the PGD in Transportation Management and Planning or its equivalent; or first degree with honours in relevant fields of Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration and Engineering, or other qualifications that may be deemed fit, such as full membership of professional bodies.
24 Master of Science (M.Sc.) Public Health (Full‐Time and Part‐Time)
The following options are available:

The programme is open to candidates who possess a first degree with honours from the University of Lagos or any other recognized University in any of the fields of Human, Social or Natural Sciences such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering, Sociology etc.
Candidates for admission into the programme are required to undergo a selection process. Candidates must have completed the National Youth Service Programme (NYSC).
25. Master of Public Health (MPH)
The Master of Public Health (MPH) programme is open to candidates who possess an MB.BS/B.DS degree of the University of Lagos or equivalent Medical or Dental degree from any recognized University.
In addition to the above, all Candidates must have at least three years post‐degree experience in Medicine or allied fields in industry, Federal, State, or Local Government Health and Safety or Medical programmes. Candidates for admission into the programme are required to undergo a selection process. Candidates must have completed the National Youth Service Programme (NYSC).
26. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Anatomy
(i) Candidates must be Post‐Registration Medical or Dental graduates. The candidate may be a graduate with a
Bachelor's degree with honours in Anatomy, Physiotherapy or Physiology.
(ii) Candidates with a Bachelor's degree with honours in Pharmacology, Optometry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Biochemistry and Zoology could be eligible to register as occasional students in the Department for one year before formal registration for the M.Sc programme.
27. Master of Science (M. Sc.) Pharmacology
Admission is open to holders of Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Physiology and Biochemistry. Candidates may be required to satisfy the Department in a selection process.
28. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Biochemistry
Admission Requirements:
(i) The programme is open to candidates with Bachelor's degree with honours in Biochemistry or related disciplines of the University of Lagos or any other University approved by Senate.
(ii) Candidates may be required to undergo a selection process.
29. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Medical Microbiology and Parasitology
The following options are available:
(i) Medical Microbiology (ii) Medical Parasitology
The programme is open to graduates in Microbiology, Cell Biology and Genetics, Zoology, Biology, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine with a heavy bias towards the appropriate areas in which the students wish to obtain the M.Sc degree. An honours degree from the University of Lagos or other accredited Universities is required.
30. Master of Science (M.Sc) Haematology and Blood Transfusion
Admission is open to holders of:
(i) an MB.BS, degree of this University or any approved University;
(ii) Candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree with honours in Biochemistry , Physiology and Laboratory Science. Such candidates are required to be registered members of the Institute of Medical Technology.
(iii) Fellows of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science of Nigeria(FIML). Such candidate must present at least 2 paper publications.
31. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Clinical Pathology
(i) Candidates who possess an MB.BS/BDS degree of the University of Lagos or equivalent Medical/Dental degrees
from any recognized University.
(ii) Candidates will be required to satisfy the Department in a selection process.
32. (a) Master of Science (M.Sc.) Clinical Pharmacy

(i) Candidates must hold a minimum of a Second Class Lower Degree or credit (declassified degree) in Pharmacy from this University or any other recognized University.

33. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Pharmaceutical Chemistry
(i) an applicant shall be graduate of this University or any other approved University, holding honours degree in any of the following disciplines: Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biochemistry and Industrial Chemistry.
(ii) candidates may be required to satisfy a selection process.
34. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Medical Physics
The M. Sc. programme shall be open to candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with honours in Physics of the University of Lagos or equivalent qualifications of other Universities recognized by the Senate of the University of Lagos.
35 Master of Science (M.Sc.) Physiology
(i) The programme is open to candidates with Bachelor's degree with honours in Physiology and related subjects.
Candidates with professional qualifications in Medicine (MB.BS), Dentistry (BDS) or Veterinary Medicine (DVM) are also eligible.
(ii) Candidates may be required to satisfy the Department in a selection process.
36. (a) Master of Science (M. Sc.) Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology
(b) Master of Science (M. Sc.) Pharmaceutical Microbiology
Candidates will be eligible for admission if they hold a Bachelor of Science degree with honours or its equivalent in
Pharmacy of this University or any other approved University. Candidates may also be required to satisfy the Department in an interview or written examination, or both.
37. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Pharmacognosy
(a) Admission to this programme shall be a graduate of the University of Lagos or any other approved University, holding a degree in any of the following disciplines: Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry and Botany. The minimum entry requirement shall be a Second‐Class Lower Division (2.2.)
(b) Candidate will be required to undergo a selection process
(c) Satisfy all other admission requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
38. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Physiotherapy (Full‐Time and Part‐Time)
Candidates for admission into M.Sc in Physiotherapy shall have:
(a) Honour degree (B.Sc., B. Medical Rehabilitation, or B. Physiotherapy) in Physiotherapy from the
University of Lagos or any other recognized University.
(b) A minimum of two years post‐qualification working experience as a Physiotherapist in health institution recognized by the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board of Nigeria (MRTB).
( c) The candidate must also meet the minimum admission requirements of the Postgraduate School of the University of Lagos.
(d) In addition, candidates will be required to go through the selection process approved by the Department of Physiotherapy.
39. Master of Arts (M.A.) French
(a) The programme will be open to candidates holding the degree of B.A. or equivalent in French of the University of Lagos or any other approved University.
(b) Candidates may be required to undergo a selection process.
40. Master of Arts (M.A.) in Theatre Arts, Visual Arts and Music
(a) Theatre Arts
(i) Candidates with a Bachelor's degree with honours in Theatre or Creative Arts or a PGD in Creative Arts or Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos or any other approved University, may apply for admission into this programme.
(ii) Candidates may be required to satisfy the Department in a selection process before admission. Candidates are also expected to satisfy all other requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
(b) Visual Arts
(i) Candidates with a Bachelor's degree with honours in Visual or Creative Arts or a PGD in Visual Arts or Creative

45. Master of Arts (M.A.) History and Strategic Studies
(i) Admission is open to holders of Bachelor's degree with honours in History or any related subjects of this or any other approved University.
(ii) Candidates may be additionally required to satisfy a selection process.
46. Master of Arts (M.A.) Philosophy
(i) Candidates for admission to M.A. Philosophy programme must be graduates with honours degrees in Philosophy of this University or any other recognized University.
(ii) Candidates whose first degrees are not in Philosophy are only eligible for admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Philosophy programme. This means that if admitted, they will be required to spend an academic session taking prescribed core courses in Philosophy. Their admission to the M.A. programme will depend on their satisfactory performance at the examination in the Postgraduate Diploma programme.
47. Master of International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) ( Part‐Time)
A candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree with honours of this University or any other recognized University in any field of study. Preference will be given to candidates who hold the Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics or Political Science.
48. Master of Laws (LL.M) (Part‐Time)
A Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with honours in Law of this University or any other recognized University. Candidates will be required to undergo a selection process.
49. Masters Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies (MHRS)
An applicant should possess a Bachelor's degree with honours of any approved University in Law or any other relevant discipline. Candidates may in addition, be required to undergo a selection process.
50. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Chemical Engineering
(i) Candidates should possess a B.Sc honours degree in Chemical Engineering of the University of Lagos or any other recognized University. Holders of the PGD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos or from any other recognized University can also apply provided that such candidates have a Bachelor's degree with honours in the Physical Sciences, or Engineering other than Chemical Engineering and other disciplines as specified in the PGD entry qualification.

51. Master of Process Engineering (M.P.E.)
Candidates must possess a degree with honours in Engineering or Science or its equivalent from the University of Lagos or any other recognized University. In addition, the prospective candidates must have at least 2 years experience in the process industry.
52. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Electrical/Electronics Engineering with specialization in areas of Electrical
Power, Electronics, Communication and Control
This programme is to last for 12 calendar months for full‐time students and 24 calendar months for part‐time students. Admission requiremens:
(i) The programme shall be open to Candidates with a Bachelor's degree with honours or equivalent in Electrical or Electronics Engineering of the University of Lagos or any other approved University.

(iii) Candidates are required to satisfy all other requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
59. NetTel@Africa Master of Science (M.Sc.) (ICT Technologies and Systems)
(i) Graduates of the NetTel@Africa PGD Programme, who have grade point average of not less than 3.50 on a scale of 5.00 provided that such graduates have first degree backgrounds with honours in Engineering or the Physical Sciences (Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Sciences), for the specialization in Engineering. All other graduates in other disciplines who meet the admission requirements for the PGD programme, and also meet the CGPA requirement, are eligible for admission into the "Management specialization" option of the M.Sc Programme.
(ii) Graduates in any of the Engineering Disciplines, Mathematics., Physics and Computer Sciences of the University of Lagos or any other University recognized by the University of Lagos. Graduates of the Social Sciences, Humanities, Law and Business Disciplines are eligible for admission into the Management Option of the programme.
60. Master of Environmental Design (M.E.D.) in Architecture
The Master of Environmental Design programme leads to the First Professional degree in Architecture.
Admission is open only to holders of the
(i) Bachelor's degree with honours in Architecture from this or any other approved University (B.Sc., B.E.S., B. Tech or their equivalents).
(ii) Candidates may be required to satisfy the Department in the selection process before admission. (iii) Candidates are required to satisfy all other requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of
Lagos.
Duration: 4 Semesters of coursework and thesis project.
61. Master in Landscape Architecture (MLA) (Full‐Time)
The Candidate must:
(i) Hold a BLA, B.Sc. (Arc.) B.Arch or its equivalent, B. Urban Design, B.FA, B.URP, B.Sc (URP), B.Sc. (Civil
Engineering), with honours degree of the University of Lagos or any other recognized University.
(ii) Hold PGD in Environmental Design (PGDED) of this University of its equivalent.
(iii) Satisfy the special admission requirements of the programme such as submission of portfolio of previous design works and/or interview.
(iv) Candidates are required to satisfy all other requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos.
Duration: 4 Semesters.
62. Master of Urban Design (MUD) (Part‐Time)
The Candidate must:
(i) Hold a first professional degree in Architecture from this University or any other recognized University (B.Arch., MED., B.Urban Design or its equivalent).
(ii) Hold the Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Design (PGDED) of this University,
(iii) Each candidate must submit a portfolio of design work in a convenient format, accompanied by a letter clearly certifying the candidate’s input.

63. Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) ( Part‐Time)
The M.Arch. programme is a post‐professional Masters degree in Advanced Research and Design. It is a studio‐based research programme, designed to empower the candidate with the techniques of research as well as the ability to translate theoretical and technical principles into design skills in solving problems of the built environment. The candidate must specialize in a specific area of architectural design.
(i) Admission is open only to holders of a first professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch,, M.E.D., M.Sc. or equivalent) from this or any recognized University.
(ii) Satisfy the special admission requirements of the Department of Architecture. (iii) Each candidate must submit a portfolio of design work in a convenient format, accompanied by a letter
clearly certifying the candidate’s input. (iv) Candidates are required to satisfy all other requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies,
University of Lagos. Duration: 4 Semesters
64. Master of Arts (M. A.) Architecture
Admission is open to holders of a first professional degree in Architecture History, Methodology of Behavioural Science in Architecture (B.Arch., M.Sc).
Note:
Each candidate for M.Arch, MUD programme must submit a portfolio of design work in a convenient format, accompanied, by a letter clearly certifying the candidates input.
65. Master of Science (M.Sc.) Construction Technology
(i) Bachelor's degree with honours in Building or Civil Engineering.

66. Master of Science (M. Sc.) Construction Management
To qualify for admission to M. Sc. degree programme, a Candidate must:
(i) Hold a professionally registerable degree in Architecture or at least a Bachelor of Science Degree with honours in Building, Civil Engineering and Quantity Surveying.
(ii) All applicants may be required to satisfy a selection process.
67. Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Urban & Regional Planning
To qualify for admission to the M. Sc degree programme a Candidate must:
(i) Be a holder of the first degree with a minimum of second class lower honours of the University of Lagos in Urban and Regional Planning or its equivalent obtained from this University and any other recognized University.
(ii) Satisfy all other requirements as stipulated in the Regulations of the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos.
68. Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP)
To qualify for admission to the Masters degree programme a Candidate must hold:
(i) First degree with a minimum of second class lower honours of the University of Lagos in Urban and Regional Planning or its equivalent obtained from this University and any other recognized University.
(ii) B.Sc Hons. degree in any of the following disciplines: Architecture, Estate Management, Building, Geography, Geography and Planning, Sociology, Forestry, Sciences, Demography, Cartography, Landscape Architecture, Geographic Information System and other related disciplines.
(iii) Postgraduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning or full professional qualification registrable with any of the following: Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria, Architect Registration Council of
Nigeria or other similar Registration Councils in similar disciplines.
(iv) Satisfy all other requirements as stipulated in the regulations of the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos.
69 Master of Project Management (MPM) (Part‐Time) (2 Years)
Admission is open to holders of:
(i) Bachelor's degree with honours in Building, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning.
(ii) Or Higher National Diploma with Upper Credit in Building, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning AND Corporate membership of NIA, NIOB, NIESV, NIQS, NSE or NITP or foreign equivalents.
(iii) All Candidates must have five years post graduation experience in their respective fields.
(iv) All Candidates are required to satisfy a selection process.
70 Master of Science (M.Sc.) Estate Management
Candidates are required to :
(i) Possess a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent with honours in Estate Management or cognate disciplines such as Urban and Regional Planning, Building and Quantity Surveying from the University of Lagos or any other
accredited University.
(ii) Achieve satisfactory performance at an entrance examination as may be deemed necessary.
(iii) Satisfy all other admission requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
Candidates will be required to undergo a selection process. Corporate membership of the professional bodies e.g. the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Nigerian Institute of Builders (NIOB) Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) and the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) shall be taken into consideration.

For candidates admitted under (i) above, the Full‐Time shall be for a minimum of 12 months or 2 consecutive semesters).
71. Master of Facilities Management (Part‐Time) (M.F.M)
(i) Bachelor's Degree with honours in Estate Management, Architecture, Building, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from any accredited University.
(ii) Candidates should have a minimum of (3) three years post qualification experience in their respective fields.
Membership of professional bodies, e.g. NIA, NIESV, NIOB, NSE, NIQS or their foreign equivalents shall be taken into consideration

Admission is open to holders of Bachelor's degree with honours in Biology or other related subjects of this or any other approved University for specialization in any of the following areas:

82 Master of Science (M.Sc.) Mathematics or Statistics (Full‐Time)
A candidate must possess:
(i) A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Mathematics/Education with at least Second Lower Division. Also, he/she must perform satisfactorily in an oral examination to be taken in the Department,
(ii) A Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematics or Statistics of the University of Lagos with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
83. Master of Environmental Management (M.E.M.) ( Part‐Time)
The course is open to Candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree with honours in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or Science based subjects or PGD Environmental Management of this University or other approved Universities.

The course is open to Candidates who possess Bachelor's degree with honours in Chemistry of this University or other approved Universities. In special cases, non‐Chemistry graduates in closely‐related subjects, and Chemistry majors in Education may be considered.

Candidates for admission into this programme shall have:
(i) Honour degree (B.Sc or B.PT) in Physiotherapy from this or any other recognized University.
(ii) A minimum of two years post‐qualification working experience as a Physiotherapist in health institution recognized by the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board of Nigeria (MRTB).
(iii) The Candidate must also meet the minimum admission requirements of the Postgraduate School of the University of Lagos.
(iv) In addition, candidates may be required to go through the selection process by the Department of Physiotherapy.
